Quick question - Bozita comes in a carton it looks like. Is that right, and how far does one carton go? I'd be feeding 3 cats in the evening on wet food.
And how far does one can of applaws go?
    Thank you!

  • Bozita cartons are chunks in jelly and slightly smaller than a large can. The cans are more of a chunky meaty pate. I can feed 4 cats on less than can per meal easily....maybe the cartons are less dense.

Take care with feeding a dry only diet; it is the general consensus nowadays that cats should have regular wet food in their diet to prevent bladder problems.

That all depens on which dry food you feed, as with everything else there are variations of diet (e.g. Royal Canin specifically produce a food with higher pH value for cats prone to FLUTD) and not all cats are affected by it anyway. Younger male cats seem to have a higher incidence than others.

If your cat is eating a good quality dry diet and you're only offering wet food as a daily treat then to be honest it matters not which brand you feed, as long as they enjoy it!

Neither of my cats are fond of Hi-Life, Feline Fayre (packed full of sugars so beware feeding to diabetic cats) or any of the other high meat content foods. They absolutely adore Felix, Whiskas and the Royal Canin pouches though, so I give them what they like.

Thanks for that I was trying to remember why cats shouldn't have a full dry diet but for the life of me couldn't remember why *insert confused face and rolleyes here* :D

My cats have a full dry diet - if I'm skint there are not raw or wet food treats & they are fine. I give my wet as a treat - not an essential component - that is once or twice a week.

Chi (the Tom) has recently had some health problems - only if these indicate a need for special foods will I consider changing their diet.

My mum feeds her cats mostly a dry diet too. Some are fine on it but some have had urinary infections (which are thought to be linked to dry diets I believe).

I have to feed my 3 dogs on Wagg right now due to some major mess ups with money which will take at least 3 months to get back to normal but surprisingly they are doing amazing on it.

It's the same for everyone though what works for some people won't work for others. Nutrition is a big, scary world

Tesco do a range called 'Just Nature' the trays are 100g and min 50% meat. The good news, just 22p. The two flavours are lamb and turkey.

I am not convinced this is as good quality as you think - Just Nature contains both derivatives and grains (rice). The percentage of the named meat is not given as a percentage of the total product, it is given as a percentage of 'meat and animal derivatives' which is an unknown percentage of the total product. The Tesco Luxury claims on the front of the pack to be 50% meat and ingredients list no grains. I wouldn't pay full price for it tho, as it regularly comes on offer.
