in my local store at least, not all the feline fayre is complete. Some seem to be complimentary, and some arent, so make sure you check the labels.

personally I only feed mine two wet as a treat or currently in the morning so I can easily get Chi to swallow his tablet. Mostly I dry feed for less mess/smell/cost & better teeth

Sheba isn't any better than felix - just costs more! Both are v expensive for what they contain. In fact most supermarket wet food is not worth bothering with.
If you run a search on good wet & dry food on here you will come up with a list of quality foods - MS way is 2 buy in bulk online to keep costs down = cheaper than feeding from supermarket or vets.

I buy what she will eat - and she is very fussy :D

Out of all good wet foods I have given mine I have to recommend Bozita too - shame it can only be sourced from Zooplus - who only accept credit card payment & charge a fair bit for postage (I get my litter from local shops & find dried food generally cheapest from pets supermarket). I recommend Asda feline fayre pouches - still doing four for £1.

Bozita is probably the best as it's 93% meat but you have to buy it online. From zooplus I think.

I feed Hi Life and Feline Fayre :) FF is 70% meat (if I remember correctly) and Hi Life is over 50% :)

If you have a Home Bargains near you or even a B&M they have 4 of the large cans (tuna) for £1. Hi Life pate tins are 25p each in Home Bargains :)

Other online retailers stock Bozita, tho Zooplus has the widest range I think.

  • Cheap: Butchers Classic

    More expensive: Nature's Own.

Don't be put off by the cheapness of Butchers Classic, it is a quality food as it has no additives, so what it lacks in meat content, it makes up for in other ways.

Higher protein foods are fine and cats don't tend to overeat, however, u need to consider that cats don't just devour meat, they also eat the feathers, skin and claws of their prey. So beaware of this when feeing high protien diets.

I'd suggest rotating different brands....my (spoilt) little cat get's very bored with the same brands and seems to need variety...just like his (spoilt) little owner!

Are you confusing foods with a high meat content with foods with a high protein content? The lower meat content foods often have a similar protein content to the the higher meat content, it is the bioavailability that is variable - how well absorbed or used the protein is.

I've switched Daisy onto Purina One for dry & just gave her the Applaws for the first time(well, half a tinlet) made a coffee & in the time it took to do that, the plate was spotless!!When I opened the tin,I thought "wonder what this would be like on sandwiches" as it looked & smelt that good!!

Take care with feeding a dry only diet; it is the general consensus nowadays that cats should have regular wet food in their diet to prevent bladder problems.

Wow, thanks guys. Lots of good tips there.
Might have a look then online, see what i can get. Hope not having a credit card will be a problem though. Only got a solo card.
So might try a few and see what they like. As a few people have said, their taste tends to change often, so will be nice to have a mix that i can go to. Will have a look at Bozita and Applaws. Don't have an asda near me, so can't try that one. But if i ever get to one, will try there range too.
