Been to B and M and bought a £9.99 4 tier greenhouse thingy....flipping broke two of the plastic joining thingies when erecting it...it's probably my fault so i have wound some bendy wire around the 2 broken joints and hopefully i will get a year or two out of it.

Feel a bit yuck today but managed to get in the garden and make a little area to put some free standing pots away from the patio...i made a little border around the new pot area using £1.49 for 9 push in metal wire edging. I also bought some of those strawberry planter things...99p each and they stack on top of each other.

My brain is addled, its all 'thingys' and 'stuff' today.

Now i have the B & M upright greenhouse thing, can i put anything out doors in it? I have lettuce, courgettes, onions and toms itching to go out. TIA.

    2 questions for anyone...

    1. Is it ok to use seeds taken from the fruits purchased in the supermarket... i.e. buy some tomatoes I like in Tesco, take some seeds out and plant them? yes give it a go.

    2. I understand that I shouldn't really use compost that I grew my tomatoes in again this year because of blight (?) so what should I do with it...?? if you are gonna grow cauli, cabbage any veg that like naff growing conditions - then bung it there or on a flower bed. Google crop rotation and that tells you what is in the same family as toms and what not to use it on. Don't use it on potatoes or aubergines cos their in the same family as toms. hth's.

shelvis - i have completely filled my beds with the b&q 3 for £10 bags! I didn't know you should add topsoil! I planted some strawberry plants out today, the only thing i noticed was how fluffy it was, so i pressed them in really firmly to get rid of air pockets near the roots, then gave them a good water. (10 mins later it decided to rain!):rotfl:

Been away for ages and feel like a newbie again!
  • WHY WONT IT STOP RAINING.

Am in a sulk. Want to get outside and do some planting and things and everytime I get a spare half hour it throws it down. Not happy.

But the rain is needed to make it all grow when it warms up.
