We tried a few months ago to put through proposals for a roof terrace, but our alcoholic nightmare neighbour from hell said no to it and the council said no too, but main reasons were that if we did everyone on the street would want to do it!

    Appeal this.

There are loads of sites on the internet regarding the promotion in respect of food miles etc of GYO.

If you are in london there is http://www.projectdirt.com/ and http://www.projectdirt.com/page/capital-growth

both of which seem to offer good advice.

Good luck though keep us posted!

Hi everyone, we sowed some seeds in little propogators and they are on the kitchen windowsill, been about a week and cucumbers, cauliflowers and broccoli are peeking through :D Basil (these ones are for a pot inside) just starting to show too. Wheen these seedlings get a bit bigger and need to be potted on will they then be ok to go out into the mini greenhouse (have a fleece cover for the greenhouse) so I have the windowsills back for the next lot of seeds?

Have pink fir apples chitting on the windowsill but no change to them at all so far?

:) it's not too late at all. March is a great time to start and depending on what you want to grow, some things won't even be ready for planting out until mid-end march.

what do you want to grow and where in the country are you? That's very important as frost dates vary a lot depending on the part of country you're in.
I live in essex . Harlow to be exact ,
just things like potatoes in containers , toms , squash , courgette , strawberries , cucs , lol what do you recommend !!!!

    Hi Skaps, welcome :D

As mentioned in another post, it depends where in the country you are as to whether to start sowing indoors/outdoors now. Whereabouts are you?
