ha ha heynonnynonny - I'll bet all the neighbours will be wondering what you're up to ("ere Fred, she's painting the flowers now!") . :rotfl:
Your hubby sounds like mine, he draws out his projects too. I have my fingers & toes crossed that you'll be getting a greenhouse.:j Dh built ours last autumn and it was supposed to be his, but I've taken it over and he never got a look in! :o:rotfl:

kimmee - got some work done in the end :o it's always Monday mornings I find the hardest to get motivated. Just don't want the weekend to end! Glad to hear you resisted the card temptation , now don't go spending tonight coz I know how those websites call when the rains coming down LOL! :rotfl:

soullesfire - love the sound of your spinach & ricotta pasta, any chance of a recipe pretty please?
We're having shallot timbales with tomato & puy lentils tonight (should be leeks really, but the green shallots work nicely too)

Same here, I check this forum probably every hour if I'm in the house in between dicking about checking veg and watering incessantly! Oooh Izzwizz I'm quite tempted to pollinate my outdoor toms, I just can't trust nature, not seen enough bees around! Also not seen one single slug or ladybird for that matter - slugs - I'm glad about, all you guys who have had problems with them, must be a nightmare.

On another note, I found some plans drawn out on OH desk which look like some kind of greenhouse building idea...I asked him about it and he wouldn't tell me a thing! Girls fingers crossed..I would love a greenhouse!!

Oooooooh I really hope it's a greenhouse, fingers firmly crossed for you :D

Yeah, know what you mean about Monday mornings - I spend half the morning e-mailing a colleague trading gags about how long it should really be till the weekend! Glad you did get motivated tho. I have actually heard my card whispering to me 'you know you want to use me and abuse me' and I've been looking longingly at the Crocus website (too expensive but beautiful plants) but I will be strong :naughty:

By the way I discovered this morning a couple of flowers on my cucumber plant this time last week I thought they were dying :j

Recipe was under the lid of the Tesco Ricotta cheese tub to be honest, have PM'd you it anyhow. I can manage spinach, it's a bit like brocolli - you either can manage it or leave it on the side, but people I didn't expect to eat spinach cleared the plate so I'm keeping the recipe since I'd not be interested in a portion of wilted spinach as a veg on it's own :P

Oh that's great kimmee, I hope they're female flowers :) Just been outside on a slug hunt and found first five (!) ripe strawberries. Washed and in a bowl ready for breakfast in the morning :) It's spitting, so I'm wondering if the rain really will come this time (they've been forecasting rain for us most of the week but it's held off 'til now). Off to have a look at that website...

Thanks, I look forward to having a read :) I love spinach so am happy to eat it in anything. Are there many people who don't like broccoli & spinach?? Glad I don't have to cook for them, it must be a nightmare trying to budget for different tastes.

Errrrr, now I'm gonna sound thick but how do I tell if it's a female flower and what if it's a male one?!!!

Congrats on the strawberries - I'm going to have a bash at them next year, dunno why I didn't this year cos I certainly love strawbs :D

We were forecast rain for pretty much all the day, it started raining around 5pm, then stopped but started again about 7 and it's been bucketing down since then, but will do the garden good.

Btw - have you seen the post on citrus plants? I can really hear the credit card straining to get out of my purse :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My courgettes have suddenly started to grow bigger :j they seem to have taken their time though, butternut squash is doing really well too :j as are pumpkins, purple sprouting brocoli looks good but no brocoli on it yet just lots of leaves does anyone know how long until i get something off it ?
Had our 1st home grown salad last night with raddish it was lovely, onions and garlic are coming on a treat and have just noticed tiny flower buds on potatoes this morning, My purple pac choi is also going mad will have to have some with tea tonight yum yum :D:D:D
Rubarb does not seem to be doing much any tips on growing it please Oh one more thing toms have got first flowers on cant wait !!!!!!!!!
    :T:T:T:T

Purple sprouting broccolli will not flower until next May & you will need to protect it from cabbage white butterfly all summer.
Pumpkins & butternut squash will be a few months yet.
Enjoy your salad, radish & pak choi & keep sowing.
