  • Hi guys,

Been in and out for a while but here are some photos of where I am now.

Here I have 4 plum tomatoes, 4 cayenne peppers, 4 red peppers and 4 cherry tomatoes. One of the plum toms even has a flower on it!

This is my kitchen herb garden in a 42cm hexagonal pot. I have sage, coriander, rosemary, mint, parsley, thyme and oregano. I bought the sage, oregano and coriander but the others are all herbs we had already in the garden. I just dug them up and potted them all together near the kitchen - I found I used them less when they were up the garden!

These are the spuds. Carrots in the middle.
    IMG00412-20100505-1547.jpg

    Peas doing well
    IMG00413-20100505-1547.jpg

Left to right we have salad leaves, radish, rocket and beetroot. If you notice some cheeky !!!!!! cat from one of the neighbours has obviously been in it :( Final straw for me and I am getting one of those sonic cat things. Or burying some small explosive charges in the patch. Sick of garden covered in poo and sick of them digging up my seeds
    IMG00414-20100505-1548.jpg

Onions, garlic, one or two herbs and some cabbages.
    IMG00415-20100505-1548.jpg

Left to right there are 2 apple trees (green rocket patio trees), raspberry canes and a hazelnut bush
    IMG00416-20100505-1548.jpg

Redcurrant bush and one of the pear trees
    IMG00417-20100505-1549.jpg

In the garden I also have a bay tree, a mulberry bush (although 5 yrs on stilll no mulberrys............), blackberrys and a second pear tree.

On the kitchen windowstill is sweetcorn seedlings, courgette seedlings and a further 9 potatoes just about chitted and going in this weekend.

    All go here!!

Now does anyone want to come and do my ironing? It seems the housework is getting somewhat neglected...............

Wonderful photos heynonnynonny and shelvis - all your plants look fantastic, thanks for sharing.

Poor you lynzpower - hope at least some of them survive. This veg growing can be disheartening can't it, but then something you think is going to give up the ghost suddenly sprouts and it's all worthwhile again. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Good for you Megansmum - wish I had a Morrisons nearby, would save me a fortune in pots :)

Thanks for much for the advice tim_m and sarymclary! Very useful thanks!
Today I've been to Poundland and the 99p store and I admit did end up going slightly carried away but nevermind!

One of the things I bought were some potatoes, I obviously didn't read the label correctly as I thought they were maris piper but they are actally called maris peer. It said plant from march to april but i decided to just buy them anyway, but do you think it's ok to plant them now? Another thing i was worried about is the fact they have sprouted like crazy and have sprouts poking out that are about 5 inches in length and also the potatoes are very squidgy. Is this going to be a problem as when I saw a 'how to' video on growing potatoes they were minus sprouts and didn't really look like they were soft? So I'm thinking mine might have 'gone off'? lol I have no clue about gardening as you can tell and no worries if they won't be any good! Hope someone can help!

Nice photos, I'd really like a look at your Mulberry sometime please, I've been trying to grow one for a couple of years, but it hasn't done much.

    Hi peeps :))

I moved into my new house last Thursday and not had time to pop in!
    So busy and stressful.

One of the first things to be unpacked and set up was my greenhouse LOL!

I have come to a bit of a stand still as to what i do next... my salad leaves have now grown much better not so leggy and cress like.
    Chives are coming along nice.
Basil and oregano have sort of stopped, seen no difference in 2 weeks :s
Yesterday i done a pot of Rocket, Still have a lot to plant ie, carrot, mizuna and salad but am not sure whether to or not.

My moneymakers are now ready to be repotted BUT i have no idea how to do it? what pots to use?
Also out of the 5 MM seeds i sowed i appear to have 16 seperate mini plants :s
I got the large yougurt sized pot from wilko which had already got soil all i did was add the enclosed seeds!!

Welcome back :). I was just wondering yesterday if you had got moved in okay.

It is a stressful thing isn't it? I'll be happy if I never have to do it again!

What size are your moneymakers? My toms are now in flower buckets, but if they're too small for that, then just a pot that'll give them some good growing and rooting room.
 Mummy to an amazing little girl
