I did post earlier in the week, but see some posts have been deleted :( I'm the one who managed to kill cress if anyone remembers my post :p

I asked about my courgettes which are growing really well. I managed to see a one reply before it all disappeared which said I needed to re pot them NOW!! I haven't as of yet, but will be going to get some bits tomorrow and will do them over the weekend.

Would they be better off in a growbag (and if so, I assume I just open it, pop one or two of the 'plants' in there and treat as normal) or would pots be better?

The same with tomatoes and peppers (although they're not ready yet)

Thanks for your help :)

Just caught a cat having a s**t in my vegetable patch and i'm FUMING!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Is it worth me putting some netting over my patch, do people think that will keep the ****** out until I can get an air rifle (joke, I think)

Thanks

I know how you feel. We have been live in our house for 2 1/2 years with not a problem in the past month not only have I had a cat s**tting in the garden but I keep finding headless mice on the lawn:eek: I don't do dead animals and my 18 month nealy stood on it yesterday.
What we have done is the areas we have not planned yet are covered with old carpet (also keeps the weed away). I have only planted a few peas so far and I have been covering with net and at night covered with a net curtain incase we get a frost.

hello,

Please can I join too?

I have planted up some lettuce (Grow your own from Homeb@se)and have put them in sectioned pot things but am worried about replanting, there seems to be a lot........... not sure how many I should put in a trug thing (brightly coloured things from Home B@rgains, 20 ltrs) and how much compost Im going to need as I would like to grow other things too - I have loads of seeds but have been Ummm-ing and ahhh-ing about buying compost. Do you think £18 for three large bags is good? thats what theyre selling them for on Preston market and they will deliver too (I dont drive).

At the moment each morning I am putting them outside and bringing them in about 7pm. I am also growing grass and wheatgrass for my guinea pigs. Is this ok? I am hoping to buying a greenhouse thing from Instore next week sometime, will this be warm enough for them?

Thanks everyone!!

I put up a couple of nets over my patches last year. It didn't stop the cat. It just pooped on top of the net a couple of times. I didn't have much enjoyment getting(more like picking) the dried cat poop off a net - I swear it did it on purpose. :(
• Ok so I am not going totally mad .................... I have been hunting for the April thread but cannot find it  Who killed it ??

I have managed to get to poundland today and brought a few items for our garden. Some hessian hanging plant things to put some strawberries in hope that the birds won't find them. Also some pea seeds, a bottle sprayer, and some more fleece covers to put away for winter.

Also went to Lakeland to buy a slug catcher thing SlugX that drowns them in beer  so they die happy, will let you know if it works. Hope it saves my lettuce and Rhubarb

http://www.lakeland.co.uk/browsebycatalogue?c=10_gar

Also grabbed a garden catalogue that has free lettuce seeds on the front :D

LOL... Hate it when that happens - used to buy expensive cat repellents for that, never really worked. Ran out of it one day and and had a pack out out of date chilli powder and scattered it on the ground - best organic slug, snail and cat repellent ever!
