Astra Issues After Installing Car Stereo

  • try a harness adapter, but dont go splicing any wires if you don`t know what your doing. seriously. 12v is more than enough to start a fire. lots of vehicle fires are caused by diy wiring changes. giving someone who knows what their doing a six pack to wire your stereo up will be cheaper than losing your excess.

    Gaaaaaaah!

Okay, OH put the Goodman's stereo back in this morning (I didn't want wires hanging out everywhere so he decided to put it back in for piece of mind) and now the digital clock and digital mileage clock won't light up!

May I respectfully suggest that you get the keys and hide them from your OH.

    Believe me, it's very tempting.:p

I personally think he should go to a professional to have them look at the stereo etc but he doesn't seem keen on that idea.

just put the sony one in as mentioned above.
  • The previous owner of my bmw thought he knew what he was doing when arsing around with the headlight wiring. I only seen the results 9 months after I bought it.

If your OH still insists on playing with things he knows nothing about at least make sure to keep a fire extinguisher in the car. Without one the car would be a goner the flames grew very quick. as it was a new loom, headlight, wing and bonnet sorted it.
