thats fine but for the rest of us that don't get an email what happens? i presume it means we do not get any work any longer.0 -
thanks deedee71 & glamazon-not used to this yet! No only din l wants job-been trying for 6months since redundant. All applications for help say my son earns too much-well it's less than £23K in London-mortgage,2 kids. She can't get a job to cover childcare costs. been looking at the supermarket jobs on here-looks worth a try for evening & w/e work.0

Thanks Mrshopper! I've been looking at this mystery shopper info-there seems no mention of ths cos charge to train you & get jobs, that you see advertised a lot-what's the opinions? Also dinl needs a job-no qualifications 2 kids 1 in school no car so-so with computer-can't get a job, about to lose jsa. Is mystery shopping a good option?
Few tips:
1) Never pay to join a mystery shopping company. Check out the first page of this thread. There are plenty of companies on there to sign up to.
2) Never rely on the income from mystery shopping. This can vary from month to month. For example, although I was extremely busy in February, March has been a very quiet month for me. I rely on my full time job and any money made from mystery shopping is extra.
3) To be a mystery shopper you will need a digital camera, mobile phone, computer, internet access, stopwatch or similar device to record times, scanner and a car or access to public transport.
4) To be a mystery shopper you also require a good command of the English language, have good observation skills, have a good memory and be able to be discreet. These are just a few of the attributes required.0 -

Wouldn't be so bad if it was just ESA but there are no jobs anywhere.... Fingers crossed it all goes a bit manic again next week
Just had an email from TNS asking if I will still be visiting a hugely increased fee pub on Sunday... Too right will I!!!0 -
Hi Fogy I was made redundant two years ago and we live on partners wage which is similar to above. As they have children on that wage they will be entitled to working families tax credit. Even if its only £20 per child per week its extra money. Plus on Working families tax credit she will get 75% of the nursery fees paid which makes a vast difference. Also prescriptions for adults are free and things like that. I have been doing mystery shopping for the last year and some months I have made quite a bit of money but for the last three literally nothing at all so it is not a constant wage.0

I know Jan-Feb were quiet for me and march is the worst month I have had in the last year. I started last april. If next march is the same I will be planning on taking a month off and maybe go and see some relations for a short holiday as no point trying to get work if there isn't any0 -

I doubt that will happen... There are limits on the self assign system, for example only 5 egg shops can be self assigned per shopper per wave. Going on last month I did double figures for that client so I would imagine there'll still be a lot of manual allocating goes on0 -

I know exactly what you mean, I wish I'd taken last week and this week as a holiday... This week I've had one pharmacy, one clothes shop, one coffee shop, one audit, a pasty shop and a chicken shop... Normally do more than that in a day!!!
We could do with MSing holidays in March when we can afford to do them i.e. theres no jobs to be had so wouldn't be losing out on any! :rotfl:0 -

Thanks as I haven't had the email I didn't know. Even so I was hoping self assign would be better for me as each month I apply for literally tons of jobs and never get them. This month they had 6 jobs in my area all out of date. I emailed and said I could do them and was called and told had to be done that day (it was evening by then) and not the next day as I had suggested. The jobs then stayed there for another 3 weeks  Every day I would reapply for them - one of the shops I drove past 6 times in that 3 weeks to make it even more annoying. Finally I got one of the jobs when I stated I was working next door the next day but the others I never got given. So I was hoping self assign would stop this happening plus would give me a change to get the local work I can see. They harassed me this week about a job 20 miles away - think its the same one debthater might have been called about as we are in same area. I made it clear I could not do it and the reason's why (i.e would not increase money) two days in a row and then they called another 10 times the second day and left 4 messages. I was glad when they finally got someone else to do the job and stop harassing me but also very annoyed as all I had wanted were the jobs near my house. They were so pushy and annoying I nearly told them not to bother contacting me ever again as I don't want to work for them :mad:0 -
Things are so quiet, I've even resorted to taking on a bank job as I'm sick of the sight of them!0
