I know I must be thick_I can't work it out-how do I ask a question here please?0

They phoned me the other day and had no idea geographically where they were asking me to go to.
I dont have a car anymore as it was a company car I had but dont work for the company anymore, so I have my trusty old bike or public transport.
Going on this particular job, would have involved a long bus ride (20 miles to be exact, and its not a direct bus route) plus a bit of walking.
All I asked for was £15 on top of the fee, and they said they couldnt.
So I left it, said no and then watched it sit on the screen for 5 days. It was an "urgent same day job" when they called me lol
It's silly isn't it ? They paid me an extra tenner last month to do a clothes shop 20 miles away, five quid in fuel and I got ten. As I said I happily say no and tell them why, if they don't want to pay then it stays sitting there.
Right, I'm off to do the one shop of the day, a jewellers.......god it's been quite this week, lol...not really laughing.

Thanks Mrshopper! I've been looking at this mystery shopper info-there seems no mention of ths cos charge to train you & get jobs, that you see advertised a lot-what's the opinions? Also dinl needs a job-no qualifications 2 kids 1 in school no car so-so with computer-can't get a job, about to lose jsa. Is mystery shopping a good option?0

If you want contact lenses, join Specsavers "LensMail" scheme.
You get 3 months supply sent via RM Recorded (although I opt to pick mine up from the local branch, to insure I get them on time and undamaged lol)
You get your contact lens checkups, aftercare, all provided free of charge.
Eye tests and contact lens tests every 1-2 years depending on prescription, and then you pay a percentage of that (I think I pay 40-50% of the cost, but the first one was free as part of the scheme)
I pay £25 per month for the lot, but they are the expensive "always moist" lenses, they stay moist for the whole time you are wearing. Before that, I paid £18 for the standard lenses per month.
Well worth it, IMO. If you need any more advice, PM me. Ive been with Specsavers for about 7-8 years now with no problems
I was with them a few yrs back but want to buy the lenses as & when I want them not on a fixed monthly basis. Plus I can get them cheaper online just need an uptodate lenses check.
oldfogy - Mystery shopping wont make you a fortune, doesn't cost you anything & no training. You need to be flexible, have a good eye for detail & a good memory. I had to read through your post a few times & I still don't understand half of what you are asking. SorryA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -

Hello, I agree with Glamzon, your post is difficult to understand. Are you saying both yourself and your daughter in law are looking for work? If your d-in-l is about to lose JSA she should be asking for formal help to get her into a job....they job centre should be able to help.
Mystery shopping requires certain skills, one of which is to be able to write a comprehensive report, otherwise you won't be paid.
You don't (and shouldn't) pay any MS company for training.0 -
I got the email yesterday from ESA regarding self-allocation. Don't know if I'll be better off in the long run as it will be FFF like the other ms companies.0

Only 10 jobs showing on ESA and none in my area! So no self allocation for me today! lol0
