well I've done one load of washing and hoovered. Didn't get one React job I wanted. Also a bit peeved that the new scoring system said I did not use spell checker, when I KNOW I did. I did notice a particular word came up with the USA spelling when checked, so not sure if that was the reason why they said make sure spell check. I always spell check as I am guilty of typing too fast and hitting the wrong key IYKWIM.

Do you use US or English spelling?

Not done a report for REACT yet with the grading. As for spelling I always use English as that is correct for the country we live in.

I used to work for a large American company and did the same for my reports there; the biggest problem we would have there would be teleconferences with staff members all over the world and everyone talking about the same thing but thinking they were not as people would be using different standards for the dates :rotfl:I would resort to using the unit number and ask them to follow the details sent out but when you have south american, russian and australian men for example all arguing between themselves as they do not think their item was going to be built it was quite funny :D

This is what annoys me with Bare... Nothing against the Americans but we did invent the language. I am English and was taught to spell using my native tongue, I normally don't get full marks from Bare and I am sure it is down to the spelling issue as the one time the spell check didn't show a "mis-spelling" due to the UK/US English difference I got a ten!

I refuse to start spelling in American English though :D

I drive too and got an old smaller car which uses less fuel but cannot justify doing 30-40 mile round trip for one job somewhere, sometimes without a fee even. I usually group jobs like that up and try to do 7-10 in a day and if i make it a weekend can use partners car so i dont have fuel costs. I am from the South West originally now in Kent and sometimes think I would be better off driving down to mums for a week and doing work there as I can see tons of stuff and know all the locations and the shortcuts on how to get to them, but I have family here to look after.

Got a dvd to watch so might watch it now as a treat rather than wait to this evening and stop worrying about lack of work. I've got 9 jobs booked for April and applied for others so thats over double what I have done this month so even if they are ones with low fees will get me out of the house and doing something.

    Good for you! :D

I'm not sure what I've got in for April yet, there's a job for the weekend... Sit down and plan my diary and hope I haven't double booked any assignments :rotfl:

That's the trouble with fastest finger first ones I jump at the chance of doing them knowing I've left my diary at home or in the car and then have to worry about juggling them around later....

me 2! The rudest american i have ever met (old job again) i was helping out with new IT stuff as they did not have enough staff. I came back and explained a few things to him (I do not have a regional accent) and he said to a colleague you will have to translate as that person is not talking english and i do not understand :mad::mad::mad:

Thanks Ninja I think my worry is I have applied for lots - got applications in for four at the moment but never get many. Also some people in here have done less than me and can self assign so I feel like they dont literally want me :( Only concerned as IF they actually allocated work to me sometimes each month there are lots in my actual town. With most of the other companies even though we have branches of most places here this town rarely shows up on the lists (for example opticians, photographers, heath stores etc we have branches but they are not covered)so I have to always drive to other towns and do lots in one go.

I'm the opposite angel. I apply for very few jobs. I rely on the buses so limit myself to about 2 MS jobs a day + my regular job. Only been doing MSing for just over a month so really don't know what their criteria is. I've only ever been called once to do an urgent job, but didn't ask for an increased fee as too shy and didn't want to come across as pushy when new to the job :p:D.

I think the break might do you good :D I keep looking on the job boards and seeing little clusters of work in places I've never been hundreds of miles away and am a little bit tempted to just jump in the car and go and do them! Based on the theory that a change is as good as a holiday...

However given the weather I'd probably better served doing a job search for Spain!

I think we all do the same. I work on a mac in office when at home in spare room and have calendar on here that I use for all ms-work and store details on it which i then link into my access database. but if I am using partners laptop or out and about i take anything i see that is ok and then have to make calendar adjustments later on :rotfl:

I've been ms-ing for a year now and never got an increased fee. If anyone calls and offers me an urgent job I request an increase and get told no so I decline the job (if it was something I had wanted and could easily have covered I would have applied or self assigned it in the first place). Well done on your first month by the way :T
