Hey guy's,
Just spoke to ESA and were told the project managers are sending out the emails to who 'they' feel should have one. Needless to say I asked what qualifies a shopper to get one and he didn't know. I asked to speak to his PM and he said he would get her to call me back.
I told him to also tell his PM how damn naughty it is to not offer the self allocation to shoppers who do the amount of work for them as I and I'm sure many others do. As I previously stated, I do at between 60 and 90 jobs each and every month for this firm and expect to be included in the self allocation, I'm sure most of you would agree........:D
I'll keep you posted.
WOW......... See what a bit of complaining does guy's. The PM has just called me straight back and said that it was sent yesterday....Hmm, I never seem to get emails lost but hey there's always a first time. As I was speaking with her, the email arrived.
I should think so too.................:(0 -
I have never done a single job for ESA.... get loads of phone calls but its always too far and they dont want to up the fee to cover the mileage.
I got an email the other day to say I was on self-allocation now, and never even done anything for them.
Hiya,
This was my argument to them.
Regarding not getting extra when they call you for assistance. Insist you need it for fuel as it's a one off job and not part of a cluster, therefore not cost effective on it's own especially if you have to pay parking etc. Also, say no if they say they can't give more.........because they can and do. I've always had between 5 or ten quid added.
Shoppers never forget this.......you are not employed for these people and you work damned hard, giving first class reports.....they need us!!!0 -
Awww, It happens to me too........;) I come home many a day and have lost work, especially from GR. I also don't get half the work I apply with for ESA and think what the hecks goin on, especially when they are right near my home, lol
I'm sure you'd forgive me if it was though because all's fair in love and war.....:)
Of course!Anyone manage to get any of the eye/contact lens checks with Tern?
I'm a contact lens wearer and usually half to pay some of the cost of my eye tests (I'm on a direct debit scheme, the scheme pays half and I pay the rest)
So to be paid to have a contact lens test (and not have to pay for it myself) is great! And its a good fee for an hours work
Oh, and no report to write! Woo hoo!
I wondered who might do contact lens'. After my free eye test on Saturday I asked about lenses - £25 just for the consultation! I think I'm going to go to Specsavers as they do a free trial = so I'll get my sizes and stuff and then buy them online
I found ESA had a very 'What do you mean you won't do it? Attitude when they asked me to do a 30mile round trip, lengthy visit/audit & report all for the same fee with no extras! It wasn't worth getting out of bed for and I've done Jobs for RE:rotfl:
Ooooooooooooooo anyone know if RE have paid out today? It's gone from my RE account but I've not checked bank. Might do that later

Where does the time go? :think:0 -
I got the self allocation email. I've only ever got 2 jobs from esa. One I got to the location and cancelled because there was no way I could do the shop convincingly (it was for safety boots, fine if it hadn't been the middle of nowhere, but you would never 'just pass' this location. Hopefully they found a man to do it in the end). The only other one I've ever been allocated was a last-minute-extra-fee.
I had a total mare yesterday. First job for TMDC. Spent ages (well over an hour) on the report, only for all the questions to disappear when I got to save and submit. Nothing at all had saved. Had to dictate it over the phone.0 -

Eeep, sounds unfortunate. Normally their result entry is fairly straightforward. Although the new site appears to having some teething problems, so perhaps you were unlucky.0 -

They phoned me the other day and had no idea geographically where they were asking me to go to.
I dont have a car anymore as it was a company car I had but dont work for the company anymore, so I have my trusty old bike or public transport.
Going on this particular job, would have involved a long bus ride (20 miles to be exact, and its not a direct bus route) plus a bit of walking.
All I asked for was £15 on top of the fee, and they said they couldnt.
So I left it, said no and then watched it sit on the screen for 5 days. It was an "urgent same day job" when they called me lol0 -

I did one earlier in the week for them and not 100% sure if you can use it instead of a proper lens check..
What happened was I spoke to the examiner for a few mins about my lenses etc and he had a quick look at my eyese. I then took out one of my lenses and the guy being tested then came in and did a lens fitment on that eye. Then he did an “after care” check on the other eye (ie the one still with the lens in) which was the normal checks you get during a contact lenses check. They did do a sight test during the fitment (only on the one eye) and did not do a sight test on the “after care” eye as the examiner said he did not have to do it (the guy being tested started to do it)
I agree it is a good fee for the time it takes with no report (and I am gutted I got turned down for the local one in the next wave, after I agreed to do one tomorrow for them not so local to get them out of a hole)0 -

I'm douing one on the 29th but it's one of those where I don't need to pay for the test. The ones where a student carries out the test etc.....cracking fee.....:j
They are desperate for contact wearers to do these student test, I got a call from them asking if I knew any lens wearers. I still have the email I think also asking me, it's a week or two old but I don't mind passing the email addy of the person dealing with these shops to anyone if you PM me..............contact lens wearers only0 -

If you want contact lenses, join Specsavers "LensMail" scheme.
You get 3 months supply sent via RM Recorded (although I opt to pick mine up from the local branch, to insure I get them on time and undamaged lol)
You get your contact lens checkups, aftercare, all provided free of charge.
Eye tests and contact lens tests every 1-2 years depending on prescription, and then you pay a percentage of that (I think I pay 40-50% of the cost, but the first one was free as part of the scheme)
I pay £25 per month for the lot, but they are the expensive "always moist" lenses, they stay moist for the whole time you are wearing. Before that, I paid £18 for the standard lenses per month.
Well worth it, IMO. If you need any more advice, PM me. Ive been with Specsavers for about 7-8 years now with no problems0
