I've just gone on their dreaded website and accepted a job from them for the first time in 12 months. This is a reimbursement only job for a store that I have never entered in my life. "Why?" you are all wondering...
Well....I am going to time exactly how long this load of rubbish takes me, starting with perusing the briefing notes and accepting the assignment and setting the date (3.45 minutes).
I'll let you know how I get on. It's Monday. Stay tuned!
Good luck MG, I'm still getting over the trauma of my last ms with RE..2 hours to fill in an 80 q report on a cup of coffee and orange juice!!
I nearly accepted an assignment today with them but gave myself a sharp slap and soon came to my senses! I will not on principle take any reimbursment only jobs from them, I've been in this game a long time and it is just taking the mickey (in my opinion). I have no problem with anyone else accepting them but I do think you are all selling yourselves short.
Good luck and let us know how you get on!!0 -

I'm on hold to a pizza shop - trying to order my dinner. Has been 7 minutes, 20 seconds so far, and this is the one that our favourite company has assignments for. Unfortunately not on assignment tonight!0

We've got better service since we shopped our local haha. There are some perks!
So far this year I've done 2 assignments for RE, but I have another tomorrow. Station job, I think they're pretty well paid for the small amount of work involved.0 -
No idea what all the rows are about this time. I have not been in here since beginning of last week when I was told I could not post jobs for a certain MS company. That ms company is still being discussed in posts in here and on the alerts board but I am not going to type the name as I was told I am not allowed to mention them. I do not know why this thread has changed into all this abuse and what feels like bullying if you are the person being picked on on that said day.
As I said last week I have been coming in here for nearly a year now as I started ms last April and I have not got into any of the rows before as I just want to help others and if I get stuck be able to ask for some assistance. But everything has changed in here now and I have no idea why or what it is all about.
But everybody should be able to voice their own opinion without being shot down and told to remove posts or that their opinion is wrong. Everyone needs to remember that we will ALL have queries at times when assignment notes seem to contradict themselves or pay has not come through as expected etc etc. And we are ALL new either completely new to ms in general or new to which every companies we have just joined so why is there all this nastiness as there is no need for it.
And no I am not on anyone's side as I am not one for gangs and groups and never have been as I would rather treat everyone with respect and vice versa.
And if we want to get into typos or grammatical errors are we are really sinking that low... who cares! we are in a forum supposedly chatting to like minded individuals/friends/colleagues (if we worked in actual buildings some of us would actually see each other most weeks) where we get to have a good chat about things and how we type really does not matter. The same as when you chat to work colleagues about things is entirely different than producing an important piece of work or in our cases assignments.
I would like to hope that I am now allowed back in here without the knives coming out but I will have to wait and see and until everyone can grow up I will be staying quiet.
As for work well done anyone who has had work so far this year as my jobs have been limited and worse months I have had. I am hoping April onwards will be better as I need some money.0 -
I did one of these to get me started.. lovely food, cost was 2 quid short for two of us, nice lunch with mum.. but wouldn't do them regularly as most of the pubs are not one's I would usually go to. I think saying there's one born every minute is incorrect, most of us have to do a basic job with RE to get started so I don't think that comment was necessary. If RE are so bad why are they listed in the start of the thread...?
You do not seem to understand what the opening part of the thread is about. It is not intended to be an endorsemnt of any of the companies.
I disagree you need to start with RE. You can start far more easily with Gap and without all the tiresome questions. They are not perfect either but are not as much of a pain as RE.
And one born every minute in my parlance means naive.Clique member no 1.:D0 -

I have read the first thread, second, third and fourth.. and seen how the comments about fee's etc have come down over the years.. My point was if RE are sooo bad.. why do many of you still use them??? Anyhow enough of the argument Corrie is on.. and I like it... and that's my opinion...Christmas 2020 £109

Puzzcat - I started with Bare so I think it depends on who you manage to get your first jobs with. GAP are by far the worst in my humble opinion as I was not paid for work I had completed and my account was suspended without any notice or explanation; as has happened to many others in here. Also TERN (for me) were diabolical as I was seen as unsuitable when I stated I could help them out with a last minute job and did not get a response and then once again my account was suspended. I would say anywhere is a good start as you build your confidence and hopefully make a small fee and if not at least get a free item or meal.
As with people who do not like jobs without fees well I got a night away last year in a lovely hotel via RE and I did not get paid but I had a great time especially as food and staff were all fantastic. So it was worth the loss on paper due to petrol and other costs to get a nice treat.0
