I received a call many months ago about a burger job where they didn't like the timings but the CCTV showed all were spot on and I was told I failed to visit the restrooms..... I stated please rewind the film a little further and you will see me clearly using the restrooms before I ordered my food - I was then told please could you use them after you eat in future:eek::eek:

By then the "receipt" shout will have gone up and the restrooms will be fully ready for my "mystery shop" - I said no thanks to any more after that. I will decide when I use the loo :rotfl:

I got the opposite. I have an elderly mum and was doing a department store and mentioned it would be nice to take her as it was a distance away and I said mum would enjoy the trip and I could treat her to lunch. This posh store have a fab restaurant. I was told no she might distract me.[/QUOTE

    so its fair to say

I think you mean you got the same.. as in you weren't allowed to take your mum as she might distract you.. same with children.. I have enough trouble remembering everything by myself, let alone with DD in tow.. apart from the 'you text I'll shop' one's that we do together...

I never shop in my flowery dress.. that's far too obvious your a MS...!

I'm taking my mum on one tomorrow, she's been on them before and thinks she's a spy... she loves to keep whispering things to me.all discreet like...NOT.... I think in fact the parents are probably more indiscreet/distracting than the children...!!!:rotfl:

Sam do you know then are they penalised for bad reports. Other staff in other stores know they are MS'ed. They dont' get their knickers in a twist about it though

Yes they are HP. It's linked to their bonus. It's worth pointing out that it's the store managers that dispute the reports, not their bosses, so they actually have nothing to lose and everything to gain if they get a bad report discredited.

On my last bad timing report I was accused of having someone in the car with me, I asked them to prove it (I didn't) and didn't hear anything back from them.

Are you sure you didn't have the dog or cat in the car (in the boot) and were you by any chance wearing a dress with flowers on it?

As previously mentioned the majority of MS company's wouldn't ask about children because most people go to work without children so it isn't an issue for them, they assume that you will be doing it solo. To be honest I think if you/anyone actually rang the MS co's and asked they would probably all say no children unless eating as a family... I think we can sometimes get away with it because we blend in, but I suspect if we were then challenged on the MS job, we would be at fault.. I know some others have done lots with children, but have they actually asked if that's ok....!
I know we have mentioned this a few times but Banks are definately a no no with children and I understand that most jobs state no children unless otherwise stated - one that allows children is Pizza places, I can't think of any others that do.

I always check the brief and if it specifically says No Children then I won't apply for it. Like my eye test, I've arranged for Saturday so OH can have LO as it states No Children.
Personally, I would expect the same level of service from a company whether I was alone, with a child or wearing a flowery dress ;) So what if it distracts the MOS? Does that mean that anyone going into a store will get a substandard level of service because they have a child?

Not having a go at anyone BTW just ranting! :)

Like I said, I always read the brief but they rang at 7pm while I was cooking and wanted an answer as to whether I could do it or not, they offered extra to cover the mileage so I accepted. Will just have to ring and say I wasn't aware it was no children and I can't get care for LO tomorrow.

Might be easier to do jobs when I go back to work as I plan to do them in lunch hour or after work as creche are flexible.

Where does the time go?
