Hi guys I had a strange job last night and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what happens re payment, expenses, revisit etc.?

I accepted a job to visit a local (seedy) bar in the city centre and was told to arrive between midnight and quarter past. I propped my eyes open with matchsticks  and visited another bar while I waited for my onstage time! Fortunately I was allowed to take a guest so I took my sister with me and we had a good laugh at how there were no other bars open in that part of town on a Thursday night and we were guaranteed to be the only 2 customers in there.
We arrived in the bar at 7 minutes after midnight and we were the only 2 people in there! We were told by the member of staff that we'd missed last orders, the bar was closing and we'd have to leave!
I've emailed the company this morning but was just wondering how to position with them with regards to payments and expenses (for matchsticks and under eye conceraler for today )?:rotfl:
Hopefully they won't ask me to revisit as it's not the nicest of places but the pay offered was excellent!
    Sorry for the long story...

Assuming this is for TNS (the timings sound right) then you need to check that you visited on the right day. Most of these are actually Friday or Saturday visits only!

Otherwise you should be able to get a little bit of the money, generally 50% of the fee is what people get for a closed shop. Annoyingly it doesn't take into account what you end up paying out before you get there!
  • Sounds like last night was a bad night for pub visits. Mine was closed too

I think the client has said they want weekday visits done but neglected to pass on the weekday opening times as whenever I've done these type before they've been weekend visits.

Just a heads up for anyone who does burger assignments with gap.
    Burger Re-Certification

    12.03.10

In a month's time, Burgers will require all certified Burger shoppers globally to have renewed their Burger certification. So we suggest getting in early to familiarise yourself with the material and have a go at the practice test to ensure that when the time comes, you will be able to renew your certification with ease!

does anyone know a good cheap ink website (or re-filling one)? i have been putting my printing at 6p per sheet and just added up the total for my last cartridge only comes to £18.28 and the bloody cartridge was £23.99 :mad::mad: i changed my printer to low quality but didnt realise it changes back to good each time so what a waste of ink! had to make a last minure dash to pc world and get a new one! not happy. found a really cheap re-filling shop on ebay but they cant do my cartridge. :(
Asda have a 2 for £8 offer on their compatible cartridges, even the ones which cost more than that for one.

Do you really need to print everything? I only print where absolutely necessary such as a letter of authority or reward letter. Otherwise I make notes in my notebook and save the documents on my PC or netbook (using Microsoft Document Writer) in case I ever need to refer to them again.

... and, as I have mentioned before, you can print multiple pages on a single sheet. I generally get away with printing 3 pages per sheet. If I am doing a run of jobs where the brief is identical, then I will print up to 6 pages per sheet.

I do keep the print out for each job with notes attached/results filled in so that I can easily refer back in case of queries. I always print job briefs (again using paper- and ink-saving strategies): sometimes a query comes back a couple of months after the job and the briefs are not always retrievable from websites after jobs are completed.

I always have my printer set to lowest print quality and "print colour images in black and white". If anything isn't clear when it has printed (e.g. planograms), I can always go back and print just that part as better quality and/or in colour.

There is usually a requirement to keep paperwork for three to six months (sometimes even longer) and I retain mine for a number of years (tax purposes). Printing several pages to one sheet makes it much easier to store paperwork.

    RE: GOOGLE EARTH

GREAT! I've just seen myself get into my car on the driveway. At least it's not a fat photo for once but the outside of the house looks shabby as it was just stripped to get painted and my old car was an old bomb. And guess what else, yes bin day, just after they've collected so the bins are all over the place. What a great advert for my street! At least it will put any burglars off :D Oops, just noticed a full skip right across the road!

My daughter was obviously visiting me when the google van came round. Her car is in four places in our village: at my house, her friend's house, at the pub(!) and waiting at a junction. It is also parked outside her house 200 miles away. Maybe we should run a competition to see who gets the most exposure!:rotfl:

Is there a way to bookmark the MS sites as always logged in? Im forever having to log in all the time! or is this done on purpose? :p

There is a "remember me" tick box by the right of the LOGIN button, tick that.

It works until you clear all cookies, as I often do it before logging into cashback sites to avoid problems with cashback transactions.

Most sites have session cookies and expire after a certain time, say half an hour for really popular traffic heavy sites.
  • Has anyone got any useful tips on filing receipts? I seem to be over-run with them at the moment thanks to all the egg shops!!

I staple the receipts to each assignments paperwork. Makes it easier to find if there is a query!:)
