This must be really old, as its showing my garden as it was in about 2007..
some towns were done before London, Cambridge, Oxford and Norwich + some others - But in the latest update coverage is really extensive.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

Hiya. I'm just working out fuel costs again.......
Does everyone work it out at 40p per mile? or how to work it cheaper?
I ask as I have just accepted 2 jobs 17.2 miles away from my home. Now fuel wise at 40p p.m its costing me £6.88. Surely this cant be right? not worth me doing them then.
Im making a loss! :eek::eek::eek:0 -

The 40p a mile is the tax-allowable rate set by HMRC. This is to cover the expenses of running the car not just the petrol i.e. road tax, insurance, repairs and servicing etc. That rate is only for the first 10,000 miles per tax year though, after that its 25p.
For tax purposes it's often helpful to make a loss on paper on jobs as this reduces the profit and tax paid on the other more profitable jobs... There are many reasons for doing a job where you are making a loss such as wanting to build your relationship with a company or simply because you want to help a particular brand / chain improve its customer experience and so are prepared to do it at a reduced rate to what you would normally.
In the unlikely event you were to get investigated as long as you can give a plausible reason as to why you chose to do the job (which may be as simple as the MS company were desperate) and stick to that reason there should be no issue
Hope this helps.0 -

Theres loads of ways round it - just be creative hehe
I have had them delivered to a hospital, bowling alley, cinema, doctors surgery....like you said as long as you google whether they deliver to your chosen place before hand.....then dinner is served!0 -
Hi guys I had a strange job last night and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what happens re payment, expenses, revisit etc.?
I accepted a job to visit a local (seedy) bar in the city centre and was told to arrive between midnight and quarter past. I propped my eyes open with matchsticksand visited another bar while I waited for my onstage time! Fortunately I was allowed to take a guest so I took my sister with me and we had a good laugh at how there were no other bars open in that part of town on a Thursday night and we were guaranteed to be the only 2 customers in there.
We arrived in the bar at 7 minutes after midnight and we were the only 2 people in there! We were told by the member of staff that we'd missed last orders, the bar was closing and we'd have to leave!
I've emailed the company this morning but was just wondering how to position with them with regards to payments and expenses (for matchsticks and under eye conceraler for today )?:rotfl:
Hopefully they won't ask me to revisit as it's not the nicest of places but the pay offered was excellent!
Sorry for the long story...0
