I know, I tend to worry a bit when I have to write a less-than-glowing report on a member of staff. I had a pizza delivery job the other night and both the phone call and the delivery were really poor, OH said 'well if you were getting minimum wage to deliver pizza would you bother making an effort every time?' He did have a point though.

I know staff have off days...I have many myself. I reckon poor pay doesn't inspire the best of service but they must know about Mystery Shoppers and are in danger of losing the job. Then again judging by some of the bright sparks I encounter they don't care.
I know I'm harsh but if you're good at your job then things can get better. Like most people we all had low paid jobs in their past (and now) but there is such a thing as pride in what you do however lowly. Often doing a good job in the beginning leads to better opportunities.

Just on to have a rant at RE. Got a bookies job. Printed off the briefing. Says I have to make a bet on a match kicking off within 24 hours. Was going to do it today but no match to bet on, so changed it to tomorrow, when I'm busy with other jobs. Re-arranged a couple of things. Just had a quick look at the briefing again, online this time. The notes have changed to say 48 hours!!!!!

So now trying to re-organise again. Rant over. For now.

I KNEW it said 24 hours! I had exactly the same thing - I was going to do it today but couldn't find a footy match kicking off in the next 24 hours - I even got as far as remembering who San Lorenzo were playing in the Argentinian league (as this was the only one I found on the bookie website) and started to compose an email (that probably wouldn't be replied to) to ask if they thought this was a suitable match or if I should rearrange it. I was looking on the notes for the person's email address and noticed it said 48 hours....

Absolutely agree with that. Perhaps not so much deliverying pizza but certainly in a store environment good members of staff become supervisors, supervisors become managers etc.

But don't you wish somedays you were writing a report on the slovenly, rude can't be arsed assistants?
I was in a well known shoe shop yesterday that supposedly prides itself on it's service. 4 members of staff having a good old gossip very loudly about their company and totally ignoring their customers. When i did get served she couldn't be bothered to check the stockroom. She had lovely gob action on the chewing gum too!

I composed such an objective (maybe a lot subjective) report in my mind that I was tempted to send it to the company free of charge! I won't however as I do like to be paid x
I once told someone that I was a mystery shopper but luckily for them "not currently on assignment", as their service was abysmal and if they didn't do as previously agreed, I was going to complain to head office. I got £80 worth of free drinks for opening my big fat mouth. :D

....It was a hotel stay in a popular chain (never seen on here) and our room wasn't ready...and then after waiting an hour as told...still wasn't ready. This went on and on until I finally flipped.

I don't have a clue about football and did mine yesterday. Just take a random guess. I did 3 -1 to england.

Best bit is, I won lol
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

    Brilliant result.

We manage a free hotel stay once as the room was dreadfully hot and outside the window was a generator that whirred and spewed out fumes all night so we had no ventilation...thought we were going to die! We didn't get relocated as promised but once I said I would write to head office they waived the bill including the restaurant meal. Amusingly the room was Number 101!

When we got home we received a survey from head office.....I detailed everything exactly as happened and received an apology and another weekend stay. Fortunately we could choose another hotel.

I think the insight we gain is handy when it comes to complaining.

Hi, well done on your win! Just a quick one, how easy/difficult did you find it to lurk around in the shop for 15 mins? I'm off out to do my first one now and quite nervous

The only match on tonight in England is the mighty Hednesford Town vs Farnborough. Unfortunately this is too obscure to even appear on the bookie website so I wouldn't risk it. As the match now seems to have to take place up to 48 hours after the bet, I would go for one on saturday afternoon - you should have a good choice with that! A

I spend a bit of time reading the horse racing paper sheets, I watch a couple of races, sometimes I make a phone call or send a couple of texts ... 15 minutes passes quite quickly and no one takes any notice. By the way I am female. I think it is probably easier for men to lurk.:)
