You aren't allowed to write anything down when viewing the register, so if you can't remember the address then asking for a viewing won't be of any use.

Use the library copy, find what you're looking for, whip out your pen & paper and copy down what you need.

If the library staff come up to you they will...... What exactly:

    Revoke your ticket,

Beat you with a sharpened Encyclopaedia Britannica,

    Dial 999,

    Just smile and walk:p
  • Hi there, i have recently found my dad, half brothers, sister n cousins after searching for years n years. I found it very hard as his name is a very common name.
I had great advice from people on here and eventually found them through facebook.

My advice is, try facebook, bebo etc, genes reunited and friends reunited are good ones to try too.
If unsuccessful and you really want to find her then last option is to pay to get the info you need.
Another site i tried was lookuppeople.com
On this site it gives you details of who also live in the household.
I think it costs £5 for 24 hours use but if you gather everyones names you can think of to help you first then it might help you.

    Good luck.x

Hi! I'm so sorry. I intended to come back & reply, I was tracking the topic through my email but was never alerted to any replies!

I didn't mean to be rude.

I have looked on the internet for her but she's only about 14 now so doesn't have much space on the web! As for my Dad/his wife, he is on facebook but doesn't respond & she doesn't seem to be anywhere.

I will check out my library, we have a big one in the town centre.. I wonder if they will be able to help me? Will it not be a breach of their rights though? They are ex-directory. I know that I could just save up & pay to find out but with so many websites out there, I'm just afraid that the money I spend on searching, I will lose if they have the wrong person or the wrong address. I'm just really cautious.

Thank you all for the replies & I am so sorry for disappearing! You all have some great advice. I really appreciate it. x

You could always use UK-INFO, which is basically 192.com on a disk. You can do house, neighbour, street searches etc. It's quite expensive, but if you look hard enough you can find it on the net for free

If you do find it you'll need a software tool called Daemon Tools to run it as a virtual disk.

    If you're stuck PM me.

    Good Luck

I have received a PM from the OP with what I think are enough complete names/location a a request through my UK Info disc to locate them so will endeavour to sort it out for them.

As an aside, I've advised them to go to User CP to set it up so that a window pops up with private message waiting.
