I am still intrigued as to what your source of income is, if not from employment. You can't be living off savings, or you would not need a loan.
Did you book your trip to New York?
Wow, as if you have the time to go snooping through random peoples posts! No, you'll be pleased to know that this is my friends username and i didn't go to New York0 -

Crime
overcrowded streets
dirty streets
pick pockets, crime again
a few no go areas e.g gun crime, gangs, drug dealing ect
no history or culture, unless you count british colonialisation . In fact, American history is British history lol and French and Holland.
Living in the UK with europe on your door step, just seems crazy to go to new york yet have thousand year history across 20 mile ocean.
I only saw new york because i was on the camp america program

Well, I would deffinately say go for it BUT take this into consideration:
Obviously it is cheap labour
The camp owner has you by the short and curlys as he can easily cancel your flight home and fire you if you dont play ball.
I did maintenance myself and i was posted on long island, new york state.
It was a summer camp for mentally challenged kids, luckily I had no responsibility over them.
Looks good on your CV. HARD WORK, 7 days straight work from 8am till 10pm (cheap labour) then 2 days off. 9 weeks.
Those are the facts really, BUT I did have great fun as I met and made some great friends from Poland and Russia and France.
We did trips on our days off to new york ect had a great time. I still miss them to this day from 5 years ago.
In summary: go for it but be realistic and aware. AND keep emergency money just incase it all goes wrong, because if you want to go home early, the camp director will not pay your flight home and it costs a bomb.
Always take advice from ppl who done it as camp america workers will only promote how good it is however bad or good it is.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

It took me a matter of seconds. I was trying to find information to help you, but clearly you don't want help.
Good luck in getting your loan!
vaporate, I love NY, have been several times and feels like home. Oddly enough my observations are the opposite of your own, interesting how different eyes can see different things!Gone ... or have I?0 -

Certainly is. Boston was just as awful. Washington had virtually nothing there unless you love large parks.
My next destination is Italy, Venice, Rome, Tuscany ect
What made camp america great was the friends I made there really. Best time I ever had really.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
