Just popped into Bullring (Brum) store to look at the furniture. After about 5 mins a guy came upto me and said
"are you a customer"
"yes" I said.
"well this departments shut today"
"oh, well there's no signs up and the escalators working"
"well you shouldnt be up here"
"I'm only having a quick look to a table and chairs I want tomorrow"
"can you leave now please"
"2 minutes"
"now please"
"well thats Next lost a big sale - what your name"
"why"
"no reason"
At this point theres about 5 or 6 of the public in here.
Oh and no delivery from instore on furniture - its immediate collection so definitely wont be buying seeing as I dont have a van.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

A great point Chelle.
My point still stands that this thread is more anti consumer than anti retailer.0 -
That was what I was trying to get at as well really. We'll naturally be at an advantage to someone who doesn't do their research or know about sites like this, but that doesn't mean that we're in the wrong for sharing and using the information to our benefit.
I think most people who have contributed on here all tried to help each other get the most from their shop rather than keeping information to themselves which could've benefited lots of different people.0 -
I'm trying to place my first order on line with Next. It wont let me put the free postage code in as I dont have an account number - takes 2-3 days to receive. I want to pick it up on store but I cant see the option for this. I'm already paying £3.75 for the catalogue I dont really want so I dont want to pay postage too. thanks.0

It would only make us 'equal' if we were all here at the time, which we weren't.
Stressed out, I think you have to order from instore, I could be wrong though?0 -

I don't think it will let you enter the code if you haven't got an account.
When I asked about my order being delivered to a store they said they couldn't do this because each store was far too busy with deliveries of their own during this current sale for selling instore. If after the sale you placed an order, you would have to do it by phone inorder to be able to change the delivery address to the store. Any delivery to a store is FOC.
Also you could ring up and cancel the catalogue and just browse items online instead.
Hope this helped?

Anyone going to Next tomorrow morning then ?0

I have just placed my order although the majority of items were "This item is expected within 1-2 weeks". Guess I will still be going tomorrow in case the items are available in store!0
