I can understand why you are upset, I would be myself but I suppose this is a moneysaving forum and people are just trying to help each other.
My VIP slot was 1 pm today but when I found out the code off here yesterday I did my order over the internet immediately. I want to know why my VIP slot is always on a Friday when everything is mostly sold out. I wonder how they decide the order,is it just alphabetically or a/c no etc.
Will make sure come on here and do that again next time.
Chances are a lot of items would have been out of stock anyway by the time I came to do my order even if the code hadn't been posted on here.

The thing is they usually add extra items as the sale progresses so I wouln't worry too much. I had a VIP slot but still used the 'cheat' code so I didn't have to pay P&P etc.

I think you just have to take opportunities when they arise. My OH put together an order last night using my VIP slot and everthing that he wanted was in stock so don't despair!

I can understand that, but I'm moneysaving as much as the next person, it could be said that its my tough luck but it works both ways, the people who did not have the vip slot could be told its their tough luck they didn't get a spot instead of taking it out of the peoples hands who did get one.

But this whole site and forum is based on finding loopholes and other ways to get the best possible deals. This thread is no different.

Can I ask why you haven't used the sale code yourself to get the order that you wanted?

I'm not frustrated, but the idea of the site is beating the retailers, not eachother, which is what this thread is about. If you had waited outside next for it to open, and then 20 people were let in before you without waiting as they knew someone or something, and they went on to clear the shelves you would all be in very bad moods, this is no differant, imho.

Theres no point me not ordering the stuff now, this thread has had nearly 17000 views on it.

I'm sorry I don't really agree.

There are posts on here giving details of sales and bargains that I wouldn't have normally known about so instantly I'm at an advantage to Joe Bloggs on the street.

There are codes for free delivery or money off that are only available if you go searching for them, again I'm at an advantage.

You might feel that it's not fair that some people take these advantages and use them but I can't see the harm in helping out a fellow Money Saver. This information is available for free, it's not like we've sold information on eBay and are therefore reaping the rewards, we're just sharing information.

Ems you are absolutely correct but if there's a silver lining to the issue it is that, the VIP sale is a glorified name, Next give to a test run of the ordering system, people likely to order if they are called VIPs than Testers!

As per every other online sale NExt have had, the bulk of the goods will be online on Saturday and as per my experience last year, they constantly add items to the sale for at least a week after the Saturday, so they will be plenty of bargains to be had.

I wouldn't be on this site if I didn't agree with the morals of it, however, where is this thread beating the retailer? The sale starts on saturday, for a few people they were lucky enough to be selected to get an early invite, this thread takes from those people not the retailer.

It's not something I wish to argue about but helping out a moneysaver by taking something away from the next moneysaver just seems unfair, not very much in the heart that this site is in.

Thanks Nads, like I say, I really have no problem with people saving money, infact I cant understand why people pay full price for anything, and have no sympathy for those who dont take the time to research using sites like this and pay over the odds.

Well, I am going to wait for my slot anyway, I know my husband wants to do it with me, we were really looking forward to it.

I totally agree with you hun. I have been a customer of NEXT online for over 10 years and this was my first ever VIP slot. I was thrilled as I have four young children and this seemed like a "privileged" opportunity. I spent a good three hours trawling through the catalogue and working out my finances. When I was rung by NEXT lastnight, I managed to get approx 15% of what I wanted. Really , really dissapointed. I feel that the system has been over abused on this occasion.
