Fed up with Orange!

Hi all, I have 2 mobile phone accounts with orange.

The first phone is a nokia N85. Unfortunately I dropped this and broke it. Since then I have been sent out 7 replacements!!! ALL HAVE BEEN FAULTY!!

Some of the problems have been different. They sent me one that was RUSTY?!!?!?! Then I got sent one which had a green screen and you couldnt do anything with it, then I had one and the camera didnt work because there was ink or something inside!?!

So now, for the past 3 phones, it will not charge. It charges for a few weeks, (the battery barely lasts the day!) then all of a sudden it just stops charging!

I have had a new charger, bought a new charger had my battery tested by nokia. Its now happened again. I'm really not happy with this, why do they keep sending out faulty phones? It's ridiculous! I feel like I'm just getting exactly the same phones back!

My other phone was a sony ericsion c510, this kept crashing, I had this replaced 3 times and have ow been sent a new phone which is the sony ericson w850i. ITS CRASHING AGAIN!!!!

I am so unhappy with this situation! And I love my phone! (the nokia!) is there anyway I can get them to send me a new phone instead of a reconditioned? Its just getting ridiculous!!!!

With regards to the sony ericcson, I will have to wait and see on that front! the phone bill is my sisters, the account is just in my name, I am getting worried that they think I am doing things to the phones!!!

Has anyone had similar problems with orange?

  • Id try and see if you can cancel your contract as the phones are not fit for purpose. they have provided you with a service you cannot use

    The phone and the sim are separate. The op can still use the sim in any phone and get his service.

    So, I called the insurance department earlier today to moan, they told me that my charger was faulty so they would send me a new one. I said don't worry i'll go buy a new one, which I did. This still didn't work, so I called again. This time I was told that my phone was faulty, and they would send me out a replacement but would cost £15. I really do not see why I should have to pay because it has been 5 weeks since they sent the phone rather than within the 4 week deadline. I am so angry!!

    Anyway, getting a new phone tommorrow. Losing all my numbers, pictures and downloaded items is getting beyond a joke now!!

    I dont really want to change/cancel the contract, I just want a phone from them that works!!!!

    I know I could use the sim in another phone, but if I am just going to buy a cheap pay as you go phone, I could have just got pay as you go really!
  • Had a fair few problems myself with orange aswell , currently on my 6th samsung pixon with orange , first pixon just froze and they sent me another which on further inspection was the same phone (i knew this because it had a scratch under the orange logo) and the problem was still there. due an upgrade soon or might just wait and change provider.

    How can they send you the same phone when they swap them over on your doopstep?

    they wouldn't give me one because I had a charger in between so it has cancelled out the problem happening 3 times apparently!

    I am really upset! Last time I lost out on 2 job interviews because I couldnt get my replacement for about 5 days so couldnt switch my phone on at all!

    it couldnt have been the same phone because they swap them on your doorstep? Unless it was a mistake and they didnt swap them over by accident somehow!

    I wish I had written all my imei numbers down so I could know if I was getting the same phone over and over....i'm incensed that they are charging me for their crappy phones! It'll probably happen again aswell, then I will def try and get a brand new one.

    The woman on the phone wouldnt give any leeway at all and said that if i didnt want to pay £15 they sold £10 payg in asda. This is fair enough but I doubt it would have the capabilities that mine does (i really love it!!!) and I wouldnt have agreed to a 24 month contract on it either!!

    Well, hopefully the phone that I will get will work, so I am paying £15 for the replacement for an admin charge! I am going to complain so hopefully I will get this back! I believe that if I didnt have phone insurance it would have cost £30!

    I have always been really happy with orange on every aspect EXCEPT the replacement phones that they send out.

    I was fine until i had by Blackberry stolen - they were excellent and sent me out a new phone by the next eve- but it was faulty- and so were the next 4 replacements!!

    I did not realise that when they send you a replacement it is a ''reconditioned phone'' when i realised this i demanded they send me a ''new phone'' which they did and it was fine ever since!
