Hi Mike - you seem to be having a much quieter week! Problems - yep we all have them - OH has just been told that we have wet rot:eek: We thought it was dry rot, but no it is wet rot, but yeah don't panic that is better than dry rot says inspector!!!!!!!!!! Okay no I won't panic, just wait till report comes in (which thankfully is done free of charge) to see what damage we shall have to do to the house to find out what is causing it. The piece of skirting board that we had noticed was going funny shape and colour is the other side of our downstairs loo, but haven't noticed that is leaking - plumber friend coming in after his holiday at the end of the month to ensure that pipe into drains is not leaking into concrete somehow, but of course that means the laminate floor (only put down about 18 months ago) will have to come up. Then the other side of that is DS2 bedroom which was an extension about 20 years ago. Inspector thought that maybe the plastic membrane may not have been put down correctly, or has split or knowing my luck there never was one (evil ex used cheap builders). See there we are talking about bloody builders again. Either way I don't suppose the house insurance, which has always been paid and never made a claim on, will cover it and with OH out of work all extra costs, no matter how small, do make me PANIC:eek::eek::eek::eek:
So have a good day one and all and I suppose I ought to get some work done!! Billie xx

Morning Billie, oh you poor thing!, I was going to ask if you had a nice weekend away. Nice to have a chance for a break, shame to come back to more trouble.

Hope things improve for you so good luck;)

If I can help anyone I will. I'm sure you have no problems making yourself understood really.

:o Don't think customer services at BGas & Virgin would agree anymore than the guys that replied to old boiler thread. :rotfl::rotfl:It was very comical at the time, it was my very 1st post so because I didn't know where to post, I put it in 2 different places. I'm new to using computers too so I didn't know what I was doing and was frantically trying to flit between the 2 posts and trying to keep up with questions. Bless em, they were trying to help someone who is beyond all help!!! I was to scared to post at all after that. What a wally.:rotfl::rotfl:

Flogging a dead horse with those two but I will bear your offer in mind. Better warn you though that I'm currently looking into CTax rebanding & PPi reclaiming. Still waiting for Data from bank at the minute but Council Tax rebanding looks like a bit of a minefield.

Bit worried about that one, with me dealing with it, its more likely the whole road will end up paying more & I'll be public enemy No1:eek:

What you up to today then? more letters? dentist? Whats the latest or is it all a waiting game at the minuete?

Did you get the e-mail? Will be out soon.[/QUOTE]

    Got the mail and replied.

I'm the guy who wanted a new phone line and they cut the street off all weekend. I had a guy here laying a drain and the power went off all around. Hard to argue it wasn't me. Got dirty looks for days.

My mum (always with his mother! What is it with this bloke?) had tree surgeons in to lop some branches and the next morning the news was all about he great hurricane, back in 1987? Trees down everywhere across the south of England. She was convinced she's caused it.

I got a bit high and mighty with my bank over a real cow who phoned on Sunday morning about my credit card debt. I complained about her, and attached a template I found on a website about unenforceability of credit card agreements, and told them I was in severe hardship and a lovely lady phoned me and froze the card interest, refunded all bank charges and credit card charges going back six years, agreed to accept £10 a month to stop proceedings against the five grand credit card debt, and probably would have taken her top off if I'd asked.

I noticed months later that the £60 I'd left in my old bank account to pay the six monthly payments was still there... they hadn't even set up a DD to pay themselves. It's still there today and I seem to have fallen down the back of the computer!

Gas and electric? They're !!!!!!s. I told them I'd involve my MP if they didn't put me straight onto their hardship tariff. Kerching. The don't realise they're supplying my electric as well, and have never even read the meter or sent a bill. I'm gonna pay for that one when it blows up but I have various legal arguments ready. Two years so far. They can only reclaim one 12-month period.

Mobile internet? Full refund of all questioned download surcharges, and monthly subscriptions. Keep the dongle too.

Landline and broadband combined? Took six months but they refunded everything I'd paid and didn't want the router back either. Back with BT even though it's the slimiest company in the UK. At least they're not dishonest, just stupid.

Thieving builder? That's got me stuck, I admit!

Indignation is the most powerful force in the universe.

And I find as I get older that people treat you how you treat yourself. Also, I'm not really scared of telesales people and I know from the little time I've spent in this mess that there's very little they can do to you if you can't pay it. It's mostly puff and bluster really. But I always pay my bills as soon as I can. I don't expect anything for nothing. But some of these greedy companies really deserve all they get. It's water of their backs anyway.

    We're better people for it.

:( 3 e-mails, 3 letters, 1 phone call back FINALLY but won't refund £200 from deal they deny giving. Took 2 years to be told NO. Sky being fitted next week, more expensive BUT...see what the service is like. Virgin have now phoned 3 times in the last week to see if I'd STAY:rotfl:. Not even if they paid me to take it AND they still haven't sent me a letter to explain/EXCUSES for my complaint.(Said the letter must have got lost but the copy that they were going to send should have been here last week!)
