I have a feeling things might change.
Although back here on earth, although he promised to ring me yesterday, he predictably didn't!
What drives someone to tell you hand on heart they'll call you when they never do!?
Must be part of Customer Service For Builders 101.
And that's a very short course module! (It concentrates more on breaking your coffee mugs and hiding them in the skip).

A wise man would wait until he'd heard back from the BBC before saying any more. But I have rarely been accused of that, so here's the message I sent the researcher very early this morning...
Hi **********
I was thinking about our conversation yesterday and I want to clarify the details of the conversation I had with Mr. ******.
We were talking about his CCJs: I wanted him to tell me if he had been untruthful in declaring that he had only one at the time he appeared for questioning in July. He asked where I'd heard there were others and I said from the BBC. I told him we were in discussion about your programme on the subject and that I have a copy of the public register.
He said 'That explains why I had a call from a reporter.'
(Actually that was completely unrelated and predated my first discussion with you about the programme.)
I said I had contacted some local papers and that if the BBC item was broadcast we would probably get some more calls. By this I meant the locals would see the item, and contact me as I will be identifiable.
It was certainly not a 'threat' to him or about adding pressure. Just a fair comment.
You will appreciate that I have done many things over the past 18 months to 'leverage' him into repaying me the money, including the original letter from my solicitor, the CCJ applications, and the subsequent Final Charging Order, plus letters, texts and e-mails.
I can see your point about leverage, but I was a little shocked that you saw my wish to be involved with your programme as anything other than a desire to start a discussion about CCJs as part of the process of using the courts to recover money. The system appears to be threatening to debtors but is pretty toothless and really just part of a paperchase to get to a means of enforcement that might work for [a particular] debtor.
I have never felt it likely that the BBC will name him as I understand some of the restrictions on you regarding timing, if nothing else. I know you have not decided on that point yet. While I may well be using my experience with him to enable me to add value to your programme, I see this feature as part of a much wider issue in which I am happy to play a part. I had not considered it as having any effect on my case against him, except maybe to make him reconsider his actions.
I have advised you previously that I don't have any particular desire that he should be named. In some ways it's better that he isn't. I would be very happy to speak to any member of your team about this and I am happy to continue discussing this with you.
Regards
Mike

Thanks for the feedback. It's hard staying on topic when you're doing all this on your own. Much easier with all your comments and suggestions.
If this lot ever gets sorted out it will be open house.
But you'll have to bring a bottle.
And some contribution to the buffet.
Numbers will have to be limited to people I like.
And I won't want children skidding around all over my new oak floors
And I'll choose the music.
And I don't want any loud or boorish behaviour because of the neighbours. And I don't want anyone playing 'Stairway' on their saxophone (no names, just saying)
And you go when I say so.
Hey, it'll be fun!

Well he did (thank God) but the magistrate lady didn't at first. So I told her it was distracting me. Whatever she was wearing didn't fit and needed ironing.
A nice touch (and I'm embarrassed to say this but - hey - we're mates now... on the way out one of them said 'Incidentally, this is one of the best appeals we've ever seen...'
Which more than made up for the hours slaving over a hot PC.
