So this is the Co-Op near to South Ealing tube, next to the Wickes?
If it is, I've always had problems with being IDed in there. I'll admit that despite being 27, I get IDed everywhere still, so that in itself isn't an issue and I nearly always carry my passport anyway. There's one particular shop assistant who, the first time I went in, took my passport and walked off with it, then claimed it was fake. Since then, I have been IDed by the same person for barbecue tongs and briquettes, Schloer, and ibuprofen tablets.0 -
Tonight I had misfortune to have to pop into our local co- op... had my 15 year old son with me who carried the shopping basket for me - no trolleys - its that small!!! and I got a bottle of wine and some bits n bobs.. at checkout the cashier put shopping including the wine in my bag.. My son then went to pick it up to carry to car ( I have hurt my back and cant lift much at moment) and the cashier said I had to carry it out of the shop as there was alcohol in the bag!! fine.... I lugged the bag outside.. then gave it to him....
what I want to know is where has this obsession with supermarkets come from that if someone is buying booze in the range of about 50 foot of a teen - that they are going to then let said teen run off with it and drink it!!
I definatly wouldnt be spending just short of £6 on a bottle of wine to then hand it over to my son!!!
anymore than ~~~blerrrrhhhhh ~~~ many years ago my parents would have....."Aunty C McB-Wik"

This is indeed the same Co-Op, just over the road from the Italian cafe type place that does a mean ham and cheese croissant, adjacent to Wickes and staffed by muppets....It must be accepted as a principle that the rifle cannot replace the speed of the horse, the magnetism of the charge and the terror of cold steel.

They told you, after you'd bought it, that your son wasn't allowed to carry it? Why did you take any notice of them. It's none of their business. And it's nonsense.0 -

It's a bit like shop keepers knowledge of punctuation. You obey rules on full stop's and apostrophe's which are not really rules.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
