Till goes ping for another reason with certain medicines. Usually thing that contain certain ingredients you can only buy two of them without going to the pharmacy. So if you only got one that is fine.
The cashier told me the till triggers a check on all sorts of things even U Certificate DVD's.0 -
Says on my receipt 'Think 25 cashier Confirmed Over 16.'

Yeah all DVDs will get a prompt but they don't give an age on the prompts like they do with other products. It just says check age restriction on product which for U would be nothing.0 -

Yet another letter was today sent to Customer Services, I shall see if I get any reply...It must be accepted as a principle that the rifle cannot replace the speed of the horse, the magnetism of the charge and the terror of cold steel.

Have you had any reply? If customer services ignore you, send it higher. It will get bounced down just to get you out of the Cheif Exec's in-tray, but the person it is bounced to will be expected to sort it rather than ignore it.
This is rather different to the people who kick off because they are asked for ID for buying products that are genuinely age restricted under the law.

No you don't. I got one at 17. It was somewhere I worked had those people outside who sign people up. They begged us to fill out the forms to help get their numbers. I got the card!
I've read on here a lot the argument that having a credit card proves your age but actually it doesn't. So although you think the shop assistant is wrong saying it's not proof they are infact correct as you can get them below the age of 18.
how on earth do you know what sort of credit card the op has?
no you cant get credit cards if your under 18 unless you put a flase dob which is illegalWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
Just read the first couple of pages of this thread and noticed one of my pet hates pop up so thought I would post my standard reply.
It is NOT a compliment if someone thinks I am under 18/21/25. I am male, we generally tend to be at our best appearance wise between 25 and 35. Fortunately I don't ever get asked, unless I am with my girlfriend....
Further to this when I am shopping with my 25 year old girlfriend I take offence to her being asked for ID if I am not. Why? Because it's implying that i'm a borderline !!!!!phile. Checkout operators take note.0 -
