Not sure if it counts but bought a cabbage for 39p in Lidl and our :Tneighbours gave my DH an electric fridge for the ( work) car so when he drives down to Palma he has a cold drink. Super, Big Hugs to them.

Have been considering buying a raised bed for my garden as I dont really want to dig any more and I can stand these on the garden, saw a nice one in Grow It but it was a bit small so my husband said he would make me two larger ones but didnt have enough wood.
Went to Fakenham market and auction today and bought two lots of wood (8 planks 2"x6" by 6' long, think they may have been for roofing beams) for £12. Less than the price of one from mag.
He can make two 6' x3' beds and have 2 planks left over.
Just need to get some preservative to treat them and some nails as we dont have enough. (we recently moved and left loads of stuff at the old house as we didnt have room)
I am really pleased cant wait to get started.0 -
ok not for but for my 2 kittens, went into pets at home today for a coverd litter tray and found they had a scratchnig post reduced from £6.99 down to £3.49, they already have one scratch psot but wanted one for them to have in the conservatory so for me that was a bargain as i really was not going to pay tons for a second one! (these kittens do seem to be spoilt though lol

Not quite free but almost - went to B and Q today and they were selling young ettuce for 50p for a few (depended how many in each set had died!). So I bought about 12 lettuce plants for a pound. They need a feed and to be potted on but they'll be absolutely fine.
Also a herb basket reduced from #12.98 to #3. They have planted mint in with thyme so the thyme is struggling as it has been overwatered. But again, I can pot on and rescue, and for mint, basil, thyme, parsley and coriander (and lots of it) I think that's a pretty good find!
So I am a very happy gardener today!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

A flash shiny new Kenwood food processor for under 2/3 of what it would otherwise have cost! :T _party_
It's been years that I haven't been able to afford one but I've been haging about on the OS board too much and I remember I used to like cooking and ahhhh I dunno, I had to at least go have a look! :search:
So I did some serious scourring and found that the precise one I'd wanted really badly when I thought it was £160 could actually be got for £101.59p including delivery with the right combination of the MSE ShopBot and a cashback site I only learned about on MSE too. How did I ever live without this place! :happylove
Honestly, I must have saved or earned or reclaimed approaching £250 because of what I've learned since I joined here. Not bad given I joined under a month ago! Oh and I've cleared 9% of my debt burden too.
I'm just too excited! Like a child with a new toy! Yes I am a sad git haha!:D
Still though- This place is ace and I've got a big shiny flash new Kenwood processor heading this way in the post! :money:I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

Got a slimline top loading washing machine off of freecycle, my current machine needs to be wined and dined before it even thinks about working, and when it does its only one setting and needs to be manually turned to the spin cycle.
might keep both though, one for regular clothes and one for babies nappies.0
