I think it was Blue Peter that also showed a recipe for Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake. Everyone was going "urghhh" but it turned out to be the most moist and yummy cake I ever made. I still use the recipe regularly and it is the cake most often requested of me for family gatherings.
The recipe is easy to find via a google search. It uses a 7 oz jar of mayonnaise - not salad cream or low fat mayo since the jar takes the place of the fat and eggs in a standard recipe.
I've never had the recipe fail yet, kids love to help in the making and as an added bonus, youngsters giggle like crazy when they tell Daddy that it's got mayonnaise in it!
PS Don't tell Daddy about the mayo before he tastes it. He has to say "mmm, lovely" before the secret ingredient is revealed :-)0 -

This sounds like a great recipe. Sounds versatile as well. I'll probably add some cheap bacon to appease my meat loving OH.
