    Morning everyone-

Bitsy- I agree, throw it all in one bowl, mix up, cook/bake it then eat it. Simple! (said in my best meerkat accent, lol)

    - Hope all works out ok for your cousins wife. *H*

Tis pouring outside right now, and is supposed to do so on and off all day, at least it’s not too cold!

Our tumble dryer gave out after less than 3 years (just) and it would have cost more to fix it that to buy a new dryer, a better one, with a 3 year warranty. Madness! I was raised at a time when appliances lasted ages and ages, it really gets my goat that everything is so disposable now . . . . So off we went to the major shops last night and ended up at Curry’s who had the best deal. They didn’t have one in stock, but the Lowestoft store did, it was picked up from there and delivered to us about an hour and a half after we were home, so I’m back in service with the laundry today. Lucky me. LOL

There’s a small cheapie beef joint in the slow cooker, put in at about 11pm last night, with potato and carrot, I’ll have to do BH another veg as he doesn’t ‘do’ cooked carrot and then just serve au jus with a roll for dinner (lunchtime for us). We’ll have the leftovers later in the week and I’ll make a gravy with the juices then.

I’ll get to the ironing this afternoon and need to get BH’s jeans measured up so I can hem them this week too - I’ve had absolutely no luck finding any fabric at boot sales/charity shops etc so will be looking online for ends I think, eBay maybe too. I just want to get a small stash ahead then start in on some sort of quilting project. Also need to deal with an iPoints problem (still), and received the order of my Total Zen Sleep Elixir and it was dated for June of 2008!! The replacement came today, but not the Freepost envelope they promised for the ‘old’ product. Will send out an email and wait a few days, but am not keeping it around forever!

Hope you all have a good afternoon/evening.

Remmie lovely story; I can't imagine ever wanting to meet up with anyone from my past, so I think it's really great when someone does, and it's all lovely.

    Lowesy have a super holiday.

I might just come to yours for my tea......:D

We shan't be having pancakes today. No time for that kind of faffing about at brekkie time (I don't do breakfast in any case), and Mr LW is not only on Late shift today, he's got several complicated procedures to do that can't even be started til 18:00, so gods alone know what time he'll be home.:(

Trying to stay busy and not get too down at the thought of such a long day alone, but tbh I'm losing the battle.

One good thing today; we got the written confirmation of our holiday booking in the post. We just have to pay the balance by 19th May; I already have the money earmarked, so that's all organised.

Right, I must get off my bum and attack the Flylady list.:o

You won't be on your own for long, you can come to mine for tea:D I got a bit carried away making the filling so I made 15 pasties and a large cheese and onion pie:rotfl:

I also realised that you cant make banana bread with no eggs:o

Not even started flylady yet but at least we won't starve;)

Where are you going on holiday and I will try not to be jealous.

We're off to Northumberland in June for a week. Found a nice little disabled-friendly studio apartment to stay in; it'll be a change of scenery, and a break from w*rk for Mr LW.
Just a mo, while I try and find a link.....

Hi all, hope everyone is having a good day, hugs to those who aren't.

We too had snow this morning, and DH & DS2 arrived back home as it was worse where they were working, and the brickie couldnt do anything,so lazy day for them, though DH is very frustrated that his job is stopped again and feels like he is wasting time, but it can't be helped, luckily he has been asked to price up another job so can be getting on with that.

DB and my niece visited this morning. She has spent the time making cards for her Mum,Dad and sister. We had lunch then went to the shops.DB has asked me if I would be willing to mind her now and again in the school hols.At the moment she goes to a childminder for a couple of days in the hols only, but the CM is finishing after many years-fed up of red tape and paperwork apparently.DB works from home, but sometimes needs some time to do stuff and see people. He thought he'd ask me first- he knows I love seeing her,and getting glue & glitter all over the floor :rotfl:,otherwise they would look for someone else.As it would mean I'd get to see a bit more of her ,I've said yes :).Can't see me getting any grandchildren any time soon,;) so might as well make the most of her, she's 6.

Got a chicken in the Remoska, smells gorgeous.

Sunnygirl- I've done 26 squares so far,so nearly 1/4 done, don't think mine will have quite as many squares as yours.I can usually manage 2-3 in the evening if I'm lucky,so will take me a while yet,but I am pleased with it so far.

Not sure about pancakes yet, will ask the others ,but as DS2 and I are low carbing, probably not.
Hope all the children are enjoying their half term.x

    Hola! everyone

It has been a carp few days here with rain yesterday and today. Before I forget, there are a couple of things I 've been meaning to share with you all.

Thursday - Aldi - seeds, and gardening stuff, knitting/crocheting wool , artists things and coloured pencils.

To those who have just got crocheting, having you found this site. There is a download booklet for blankets/throws on this page, but you can register and get a daily email with various options/patterns/ideas (if you can cope (or ignore) the daily email).

School trips at over £2k, what world are they living in, I would not have let my DS go on principle. Why can they not take them camping in the UK, and yes it might rain, but it does not matter at that age, and show them how to enjoy themselves for free, that would set them up for life better.

The school trip when I was at school (a year or two ago I know) was camping at Appletreewick (North Yorks)!

Lowsey - if your skin problem persists, pop in a farmacia while on hols, they will soon sort you out.

We don't celebrate Valentine's Day either, after 36.5 years if we don't know how we feel about each other, and can't tell each other then we have something wrong!

OS wise, washing waiting for nicer weather (due tomorrow) ironing up to date, made a v. large cottage pie on Saturday, and it has done us 3 days, so today will make some burgers with the mince which is left. Also have tomato sauce with use up veg/lentils bubbling away, and will freeze that when done. Treat myself to some nice linguistines (large prawns) with some crusty bread for lunch.

DH having his half hour on the wii fit, and I will follow afterwards.

Caravanning hols are slightly sorted, a long weekend in Ripon as we return, Towcester for MayDay followed by the rest of the week near Cambridge, 10-14 days (depending) in Wadebridge, Cornwall at the beginning of June. They rally we were to have run then in France had to be cancelled due to lack of interest. Now trying to decide where to go in France and for how long as we have a crossing booked, but can change the dates of it. Beginning of August we are in the North East for the Tall Ships Race, most of this will be on rallies so very cost effective.

world.gifHugs to you all where ever you may be.

    Take care - DG

Well I didnt have time to come on this morning, and so now I have only just managed it.!
Things have not gone as planned, or hoped, and Social Services have left us in limbo once more.
Twin1 is here and so at least I dont have to struggle with DGD's bath!
Not sure if I have the time to join yet another thread Candygirl, but I will see.
Reading about other peoples struggles have put mine into the shadows! Which is a good thing. I was really beginning to wallow in all the problems that are facing me at the moment.!
We have to wait for our social worker to come back off of holiday before we get any results from DD's assessment.
My doctor has refered me to physio and to councilling, and my medication has been upped again...Least I am not on the antidepressants again!.....yet anyway.

Maybe tomorrow will be easier to catch up. But its my mothers 74th birthday so I have to go and see her, and tonight I will need to see if I can make her a card, as finances are not that brilliant at the moment. She wont let me buy her a present, as she says they dont have the room for things anymore! Doesnt eat chocolates and is alergic to flowers!!

We have had pancakes just now. So we will no doubt be eating later as we will be hungry again1.

Twin1, DD, is giving DGD a bath now. So I have been battling with the log fire. It doesnt want to stay alight at all.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
