Hi
My laptop is doing my head in. It will connect without any problems for a few days then it will just decide to;
a) Not see my network in the available wireless network list
b) See my network but refuse to connect to it telling me to have a word with whoever deals with my network
Anyone else with a laptop/netbook/mobile phone/probably even a kettle can connect to my bloody network really easily. Why can't I? It's driving me mad. The only way I can get it to find and connect is to keep rebooting the laptop and switching the router off and on again. Eventually, it will say 'acquiring network address', like it's doing me a massive favour, then connect.
Can I just download something and make it all better please? I do need to buy a new laptop but I'd rather hang on a little while yet.
My Internet is tiscali, laptop is hp compaq nx6325, router is a siemens something or other, ethernet cable is broken, patience is run out.
Please help. I've wanted to post this question since I got in at 7.30 and I only got it connected a little while ago.
TIA

I've always thought it does get pretty hot. Does that mean it's stuffed?0

You go into your router details, normally via http://192.168.0.1/start.htm in your browser, then go into your wireless settings. There you'll see a tick box asking if you want your ssid to be broadcast. Tick yes and you should see it in your list of networks all the time.0

It's probably something else, but check in device manager which graphics chip is installed.!!

That says page can't be displayed.
I can't find how to get into my router details.0 -
look under display adapters.
To find the router ip address:
Click, start, then run, type
cmd
a black box will appear, type
ipconfig
the default gateway ip address is the one you need to look at router settings!!
