When it failed to find the address, and I used the postcode I expected it to put an X on the map where the street is. Nope, all it knew was that postcode range was associated to a particular town, and that was all.
If it is this bad with fairly old postcodes, does it know about roads built in the last few years?
I think I will wait for one with more up to date maps.
Did you put a space between the two parts of the post code i.e. TG2 6AB instead of TG26AB?
The maps are uptodate ... some come with nearly two year old maps but can be updated free by sending your memory card to Garmin freepost. Most will come with the latest data now i.e. January 2006.0 -

Yes, it clearly recognised it as a valid postcode, just didn't know where it was.greyster wrote:The maps are uptodate ... some come with nearly two year old maps but can be updated free by sending your memory card to Garmin freepost. Most will come with the latest data now i.e. January 2006.
Useful to know. The manager in Comet denied that they would do postcode navigation until I insisted that they did, and pointed to the Point of Sale card that said it did. He didn't know or bother to volunteer the information that it could be updated FOC.0 -
Yup the link no longer works!0

Yes it has gone. Even if you search the whole site for Garmin it doesn't show up. Keep checking back as sometimes they just take the products off for a while to catch their breath and work out correct stock levels etc.Do not speak- unless it improves on silence.0

I took a look at this yest morning after Id seen this post, I put it in my shopping basket on comet site but then decided I wanted to have a look at it in the flesh before parting with my cash so nipped down to comet yest afternoon and had a play, was v.impressed and would have bought it there if they'd been able to match the online price (assistant said they'd been advised they couldnt match web prices on sat navs??), was v.disappointed to get back home, log on and find the comet link for it had gone down! I decided to have a play with my history folder on pc, and managed to find the page before the checkout page that Id had up that morning (its the one where they try to sell you the aerial), I then clicked continue thinking it would just come up with the "sorry we cant process your request" page, but it took me to the checkout with the I3 in my basket, went throught the payment process and it all went through, Ive had confirmation email and it should be coming on Friday.
So for anyone who did the same as me and put it in their basket sat morning when it was working but then didnt finish the checkout, have look on your history and see if you can get it still!! This is definitely a bargain for £99!!0 -
