All was quiet in the RMC house, too quiet on Ebay I might add so I went looking for Mr RMC and found him painting the bathroom! This, the same bathroom that has never been painted since we moved in 4.5 years ago and pulled the tiles off the walls, fitted the ugliest suite ever and left it!

We decided that the whole thing needs replaced and so it will not be done for a few years for reasons you are all far too familiar with. It is horrible but of course, when you live in you get used to it.

We talked 2 days ago about tiling it with some leftover tiles we have and painting the tounge n'groove and hey hoe its all painted and he is even threatening to tile tomorrow!! Amazing what your sister coming to visit will do.

If he is still tiling or paint tomorrow then buy him a beer and you a bottle of wine, I think he deserve it for all the work and you for not falling down with shock.

My SIL is coming up on Friday and my dh has spent 3 hours each morning at the allotment and coming home making lunch and then helping me paint & arrange my ds room , doing his bit and then making dinner. while I have spend all day painting ds room. Its amazing what they do when their sister is coming to stay.
DS room complete, I just have to tidy the whole house now.

When she gone will have to tackle my dd1 room.

Do any of you have Critical Illness cover - mine is for £50k but costs whopping £50 per month. St Martin doesn't really advoicate CI cover due to the massive number of exclusions.

We also have too much life cover £200k each!!!!!!!!!!! It should be £153k joint, so having a wee looksie at that now. We don't have children so in my opinion is just to cover mortgage but maybe I am not looking at it right, any thoughts?

(Yes I do have too much time on my hands!)

And where are the ebay purchasers today?? All out, me thinks!

I've got life assurance with critical illness cover, covering £85k (just the mortgage, no kids or joint finances so debt not covered). Got loads of different advice and found Matin's article confused me even more! Was paying £33 pm but just changed and now paying £23 (and it cost's me more as I'm currently on medication). I dedcided to go for critical illness in the end because if anything happened that meant I couldn't work in the medium or long term, I'd be in big trouble. Still don't really understand whether it was the best decision though! I found trying to work it out all rather tedious (though it would possibly cure my insomnia!)

It could be worse, you could have had your light bulb moment and found out about music magpie a few days after putting your CDs onto the computer and then giving three boxes away to your friend! Now, what kind of idiot would do a thing like that... :o :rotfl:

You are the woman I am looking for! I think its the no kids thing that has me confused. Our neices and nephews are going to get my house, which is fine but I dont think I need to provide them with a slush fund too.

Did you take level term or decreasing term assurance. I am paying £140 per month for total insurance right now, its too much money and too much cover so I need to look at the whole thing. I have CI but DH doesn't and he has so many complaints I think the exclusions would be a mile long (I used to work in insurance and even I struggle with this)
