Two random things I have read today that I need to think about
a) I am not poor - I am broke
b) I need to control my money and not have it control me!
c) What I want and what I need are very very different.
And yes I know, thats 3 things!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

Yes Taxi I didn't go and if you were here, you wouldn't have gone either. It was pouring down and then thundered, so sitting outside would have been horrendous. I am disappointed but not half as peed off as I would have been sitting outside!
Also been thinking about the fact that even though I have cut out almost all un-necessary spend (don't know if one can ever totally lose all of it) I still don't have enough money to cover all monthly bills. Thus ebay, music magpie etc is being used to cover minimums.
I have mentioned before that I have never been able to budget for food/fuel because I have just had to buy food when I have money - although I try to buy sensibly, buying in bulk would be more cost effective - but if I don't have the pennies etc etc
Sorry for random thoughts - I am trying to work out my 'toxins' and, surprise, surprise, they all seem to focus around money or the lack of it!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

Fair enough, Red: do you have any idea how long it will be before minimums are covered by your wages?
Also, I'm glad you didn't get caught in torrential rain. Please call me 'Pickle'

Hi Red they can take your money but they cant take your sence of humor eh? What is your shortfall each month?x0
-
In short Pickle - never! My wages cover all the household bills - mortgage etc but I need money from DH to cover minimums which come to £750 per month (Ugh)
This is why I had to sort out business to ensure there was money available to 'me' for cc's etc.
Now the good news is that now the business is able to afford that £750 but ideally I would like to get to a place where I get that money at the start of each month and then there is no robbing Peter scenario and hopefully that will happen come January.
In August and September I did not get any expenses (primarily because I was off at cut-off date) and so I now know what my basic wage is. My plan is to withdraw any additional salary provided by expenses (could be between £200-£400 per month) and thats what we live off - food/fuel etc.
We have done very well this year income wise but of course we saw nothing because of the mess we started the year in and the subsequent debt payments so next year is about driving costs down, which we have already started but of course costs are always dearer when you have no money thus our need to provide a cushion for the business until January and then hopefully start overpayments.
Thats the theory..................
