Positive is good and negativity is such a wasted emotion, just have to keep reminding myself about that.
I snowball all the debt regularly and have a plan - not surprisingly Ricardo comes in at no 1, so he is first on my hit list for sure. Plus, I do want to get Absurd& Ludicrous o/d cleared - but that's more for mental health reasons. However, I have managed 2 months with no charges from them, so thats a big improvement.
I am trying to feed myself some karmic chicken soup to ensure some zzzzzzzzzzzz's tonight by reading old diaries of others..........just to remind me I am not the only one in the glup!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

*HUGS* Sorry you are having a rubbish day. It's awful when you feel like you are fighting as hard as possible and that it's getting absolutely nowhere.
As for DH, 'I'm rubbish with money' is exasperating. Given that it's the start of the new academic year (and even though it is likely to be money you don't have), is there any chance he could enrol on a book keeping/business course one night a week? It might help him to 'get' money, and see the bigger picture with regard to how important it is to keep tabs on things, and hence relieve a bit of the stress on you. If it's a possible go-er, take a look at what's going on at your local college online. x
Chin up, chuck - you're doing really well. It's a question of the bigger picture: £10K in 5 months is astounding! Please call me 'Pickle'

Keep your chin up RMC, you are doing an absolutely fantastic job of chipping away at things. I sometimes get down when I think about how far we have to go, but I come on here, and get a little bit more inspiration from others and plod on.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 607 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

He would have a heart attack if I even suggested it - him and school were never friends. He is one of those 'creative' types, whereas I am analytical Annie. I love spreadsheets, he couldn't even find a sheet! He has improved considerably in the last few months re understanding and he does work very hard at trying to make more money and get the business growing stronger. I just need to find his 'financial button' so I can switch it on!
And yes £10k is good, but sometimes the bigger picture just looks like one big whale trying to swallow me up - but enough negative talk

I too have to take on financial responsibilty in our house as DH isn't that way inclined but it works for us...DH is most excited about clearing the mortgage and this keeps him motivated...I'm happy to do the finances and have done for the 17 years we've been together.
Seems a lot of men aren't cut out for finances reading these boards.
remember you are doing a fantastic job and things will get easier0 -

Maybe that's why he needs to go Back to Skool: to learn to look at things from a different perspective. Look at it this way...your OH might be the best pie maker in northern Europe, but if he isn't able to see the business side to things, and how to cut out the problems in his business (getting paperwork etc. done in time to not get fined), then he's creating a rod for his own back and is going to hold his business back. Eventually, if it gets serious enough (and you're not there to do it for him), it could cost him said business. What a shame that would be. If he learned a bit of what you know, it would help to remind him to get - and keep - on top of the admin side of things, which would make life easier for you if you continue to help as you wouldn't end up with so many charges for late payment etc.
What will happen if you are not able to be there to be analytical Annie for him? He can carry on making lots of good pies, but he'll not reap the rewards.
Sorry if that sounds like preaching. I just think it would make your life easier. You already work really hard as it is, doing two jobs really, and I just think it would just make a massive difference to your stress levels. xPlease call me 'Pickle'
