Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Should also say that we have £3000 outstanding from shops, which of course will come in end of month, and keep us 'safe' for another while. I take it you can't ask forcefully for this to be paid, I guess these are the big guys?

It is just this week (20th of each month) that it goes pear shaped! Again I think I am paying too much too soon to business debt - need to think outside the box. It is realistic to do payments per week, to even out the money flow a bit more? Ie do minimum payments when they are due, and then pay extra during the month?

You know how it is, money comes in and you are paying all of it out ASAP because all you want is figures to come down

I may also be talking total drivel as I have never run a business....

Hope you made it to the tip, and well done on getting rid of the stuff you have moved several times. Cause you know though, that next week, you will suddenly need something you took to the tip. The law of s o d you know....

Someone else's take on my debt is never drivel - thanks Chevalier.

We have some cash accounts who pay weekly and others who pay monthly. I have worked very hard at ensuring they pay on time so at least there is no bad debt.

Very happy to have gone to tip and I also got myself a fire screen for free - so even better!

why don't you delay paying your suppliers until 27th so that your money has come in.

I am trying to sort it so that they do get paid after we do, IYSWIM, but we have arrears (with just 2 now) that I am focusing on - one of whom refused to send order until payment was made. Now they are being particularly hard nosed as I have paid them £4500 since May and now am only owing £1000 - they insisted on this (well £650) last week to send order. I paid it and that is how I have ended up in this mess this week because I hadn't budgeted to pay them until end of month. However, good news is that now only have £350 to pay at end of month, which is fine. But because of 'early' payment I am not able to pay cc due tomorrow.

Plus van needed brakes - had to be done - £85 gone today! (well cheque will clear on Wed). Thus why I think I need to delay overpaying cc until new year. Business will be debt free (except for monthly accounts, which will be up to date) by end of September, which is also our year end. I am delighted about that because it will mean I have cleared £10k in 5 months, which is great.

I had then planned to start overpaying cc but as I said the other day, I need to build up a contingency in business bank. This will mean :
    a) reducing o/d, which will insure less interest payments.
    b) although we will still have o/d facility we will not be within pence of it almost daily.
    c) we will be able to pay for emergency items (such as brakes) without having to worry about getting money to bank before cheque bounces etc.

I think I should be clear to start overpaying cc in January - maybe sooner but there are some things we need e.g. heating oil and underwear!! LOL what a mixture but neither of us could afford to be knocked down right now!!!!

And thats the plan but God only knows!

    I have a question!

Do I sell the remaining DVD's/CD's I have to Music Magpie for pennies/leave them on Amazon for another while and maybe get extra money for them/put them all on Ebay at 99p starting price (and thus no charges for listing) and hold my breath!
