Fair enough: I've just finished cooking a roast chicken. *Licks lips*

Sorry for hijacking your thread, Reddie, but I feel as though I pop by here for a coffee and chatting to the other coffee drinkers is just a natural extension of this. (Now pass the biscuits!) ;)

Absurd&Ludicrous finally acknowledged my paypal deposit. Funny how paypal say 2-3 days and it took Absurd&Ludicrous 5 days!!! So another dd paid with enough money for the one on Wednesday too.

It is a Bank Holiday here today so no business bank - bummer.

Ebay was good last night, sold 4 out of 7 items and made £16.20 and since none of it was of value I am a happy Reddie (except I'm not, I am dark haired) Have to resist urge to put stuff on tonight as Monday is never a good day in my experience to end an auction.

Weather: Sun is not shining but rain is not falling either. Maybe I will get to 'walk the estate' later. (The estate being not that big of a garden but big enough because we have a corner site, however lose all conception of me having to gallop on a black stallion to get to the gate, its like 20 metres away)

Today, in contradiction of my hero Bob, I do like Mondays!

In the ongoing 'holiday of declutter' I have just cleared three boxes of uni stuff - I only graduated 3 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!

And what did I keep from the powerhouse of learning - 5 research papers!

DH, in his horrendous hoarding nature, has many many boxes to clear, all of which I have moved to various locations in the home several times. I have asked that he clear only 5 today, anyone want to place a bet?

I had a massive declutter of uni stuff as well a few months ago, and threw out tons, but there's still LOADS left. I daren't get rid of any more for a few more years.

I have loads of everything, TBH, but I'm getting better.

Oh, and here *pulls out pack of caramel digestive biscuits*...have some of them. Yum! :D

    Morning

Went to visit SIL last night - good night, she is very easy to chat to.

Absurd&Ludicrous working again but no surprises there. Another payment I had requested from Paypal hasn't arrived yet so I am now assuming it takes 5 days (even though Paypal say it takes 2/3).

Ebay - 106 listed and bids on 10 (£13.61) which is ok, most of the stuff is cds/dvds and you only ever get a rare one with high bidding. Have some clothes photographed for another splurge. The more I make, the less I have to take from business account, the quicker I clear debt there.

Just two shop account outstanding from May for business, which is the best ever. When these come in I will be able to make the final payments of this months plan which means business debt will be under £9000, which I am delighted about. If everything continue to go to plan, we will owe less than £4500 by year end in Sept, this is owed to two suppliers to whom I am paying £70 per week each, so that will take a while to clear. I could push and clear them quicker but no interest is being added so it makes sense to start paying high cc asap.

In Sept I will start on personal debt. I will always need business to 'pay us' £500 to cover bills, which it is currently doing and managing. (all dd/cc are getting minimum payments.) Then anything over that will go towards paying extra on, in the first instance, Ricardo Branso!. I will resist the urge to do a snowball until August when business payments are coming to an end!!

Now I have three things to consider.

    a) business goes very slow Dec/Jan/Feb. We are going to try to make speciality tarts for Xmas. Mince pies are a good seller but you have to sell so many more of those than apple tarts to make same money and the profit margins aren't as good. But I will have to reduce extra payments then for sure.
    b) we have no emergency fund and I know I need to factor this in somehow. (£500 would be good enough I think)
    c) my mother, probably rightly, has pointed out that business has increased so much (by 71% on this time last year) and we have not seen any pleasure from it (she is not sad like 'us' who get ecstatic over a minor debt reduction). She thinks we need to factor in a break in January when business is slow. (Probably the first week of Jan) just to give us something to look forward to. I will ponder on this for a while longer.

So basically these three considerations leave me thinking that I need to start saving a few pennies (holiday and emergency fund, but not in that order) The logical thing to do is not 'go to the wire' with the over payments ever and hold a little back or maybe even keep ebay/amazon money seperate and 'save' that (however we all know how undependable that money is)

And not to be a complete kill joy - but winter is coming and oil costs money - how sad am I

Apologies for the ramblings but as always the best thing about this diary is that it is out of my head and onto a page!
