  • Finished another series last night - Big Bang Theory S4 and started another - Castle S1 which I bought with money I got for Christmas. The couple of episodes I watched were good - easy to follow, slightly lighthearted police programme.

Finishing BBT also means I can start working through the next series which is taking up a lot of room on my Sky + box!

Well done on avoiding the purchase, blindtoast: that's really good of you!

(Wish I could say the same about the Boots sale. :o:p But that's all for presents. Honest!)

Thanks Pickle. I was very proud of myself and think I can safely say that I haven't bought any DVDs since New Year! :D (Though Castle may have been bought in the 1st couple of days of Jan - I can't remember! :o)

How are you getting on with your decluttering?

I didn't buy anything from the boots sale but mainly because I couldn't think who I would buy things for and I have no where to store it if I did buy something! There were some lovely things though that were quite cheap so I can see why you were tempted.

Oh just remembered that I did buy some Gu truffles for half price from boots - they are delicious!!

This challenge sounds perfect for me and my OH! We rent loads from Blockbusters and are always late taking them back so have to rent more to avoid the fines, and we have Lovefilm as well! In our cupboard we must have 200+ DVDs and I know I have not seen them all, i'm sure that she hasn't either.... Right, I am in, and so is my OH even though she doesn't know it yet...

  • Welcome Taylo

I love Lovefilm - it has saved me a lot of money and space in the last year stopping me buying cheap DVDs on a whim! I have 100s of DVDs and don't dare to count how many I haven't seen! :o

Good luck with the challenge! :)

Mmm, chocolate....must stay away from it...*licks lips*

I'm doing pretty darn well with the decluttering! :) I've got rid of lots - and still have lots to get rid of - but have sold a few bits on Ebay, earning pennies and space, and have sent a fair bit to the charity shop. I have also shredded LOADS of paper, and have made some strategic choices about how much I need to keep in the future. Overall, the amount of space I have now is fantastic, but I still need to keep going as there's a lot more work to do. But that's OK, cos I now feel very positive about the whole thing. :D

 Welcome Taylo...jump in at the deep end and let us know how you are doing. Think of that cupboard as your own personal branch of Blockbusters, and for the LoveFilm effect, just stick a hand in when your eyes are shut and pull out one film at randon. :rotfl:

I love this idea of random film choice! May have to try it out - though mine are in boxes so maybe a random number selection!

  • I have to confess to a purchase today - I bought Lady and the Tramp yesterday - though I did get £5 off from my Morrisons Miles voucher and I have been waiting years for it to come out on DVD, which I think justifys my spend?!

Also I resisted buying Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy earlier in the day thinking that I should just watch it when Lovefilm send it, so at least it was only one very small slip up!
