Natwest Current Plus

If you've got the sig forms you are fine. If you were going to be rejected it would be before the form is sent.

The account opening team (who are the guys who recieve the form you send back) dont do credit checks and only go off the paperwork provided. Account opening is done in India, with an Exceptions/contact team in Southampton
Thanks for the info Catflea. Will await some news in the post then hopefully!:beer:0 -
There isn't too much difference between step and current plus these days anyway. Both issue visa debits with current plus's being an offline one but the online one works in most places anyway, current plus issues a cheque book but cheques are dead and current plus allows an overdraft but that is subject to status anyway.
I don't know why natwest don't do away with step, offer current plus to all but tailor it's facilities to match the credit score0 -
I upgraded from Step to current plus a few months ago, with the idea that STEP is a basic account with no od facilities but CP does, subject to status. I did it online, then got the forms to sign, and then the pack a week later.
I use this as my bill paying account, and always keep money in it. When my finances allow, it may be possible to have a small overdraft if ever I need one in an emergency (for example while a cheque clears)Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Dont the forms go to AVU for futher checks once the application has been signed?
The applicant could still be declined at that stage.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Sorry, I stand corrected - account opening had just gone through the GMOI integration as I was leaving and was done by the guys 3 banks of desks down from where I was. Credit checking is done at time of application though - if it was a fail they wouldn't have had the paperwork to sign.Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0

Yes, I found that strange - I ran through the application online as a current online banking customer, but for some reason all the fields were blank (whereas they are normally pre-filled for you as a current customer) completed the form & got a 'yes in principle', forms sent etc.
Ran through it again yesterday & all the fields were pre-filled, got to the end & only had the step / cash acct options???
I can only think that there was an error somewhere & hopefully it allows it to go through.
I do have a 'proper' account with Lloyds now though too & they will be able to see that I have run it without any charges etc so hopefully that will go in my favour.
During the application process online it tells you that if your unsuccessful for a current plus or advantage gold it will automatically continue for a step account.
I can not confirm or deny that this is still the case, however I know it used to before they changed the website.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

There a lot of posters on here who have received paperwork to sign to and return, to then find out there application has later been declined by AVU. :eek:Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Yes, I think it did state that, but wouldn't it be a waste of time to open another step acct if we already have one:think:
Yes, I have seen some posts where that has happened. Will just have to wait & see I guess!:)0
