Hi C - good to hear from you, I was going to PM you re that and ask how it all was! I guess at least you tried, so hopefully that will be in your favour. We had decided to only submit ours near mid May anyway so she has less time. However, this week must write to them re change of address. Presume I can address the letter to the court and just put a line at the bottom saying 'cc: Defendant Mrs xxxxxx?

Have 4 clients now, although 1 is a bit flaky and has canceled twice in 2 weeks - very unreliable and yesterday only gave me an hours notice - grr. Plus he owes me 2 invoices now and still no sign of payment.

Hi all, still haven't got round to writing to court & defendant with new address - have this down to do tomorrow as I am off.

Re the new flat - the new landlady is great and we are doing well here, still no news of which deposit plan the deposit is being held with so will text her today.

Also she never gave us an inventory - seems quite relaxed about it all, should we do one, or is the onus on her really?

Hope you are all well and would love to hear news from everyone! Clutton -do you have any news?

why does she need to known your new address ? i would just write and tell the court - if they think she should know - they will tell her.
  • I agree with Clutton - I'm not sure you have any responsibility to tell the old dragon your new address.

As for an inventory, personally I would do one myself even if the landlady doesn't seem bothered. I'd just feel a bit happier knowing that I have the info.

Hi EL- my "b*ugger" has now somehow wangled it that the court case takes place 120 miles from where i live !! so i am writing to the new court today to ask them to reconsider. i had expected this, as each time we move a step nearer, i ask myself the question - what is the worst thing he can do - and i expect that.

i have talked to a mate who suggests i write to the court to challenge it and explain i am a single person, and that he is a company and that i cannot leave my business ..... more later !

    hope you are well

Thanks guys - have typed up th eletter for the court this morning and will post tomorrow once D has signed it.

Also have written a chasing letter to ARLA, will also post tomorrow once he has signed it.

Looking forward to secret break next weekend, he deserves a break as has been working really hard. Last year she managed to ruin his birthday, not so this year.

Good luck C - at least you hope for the best and expect the worst - a policy I am starting to understand!

It is tough being a landlord ? I've borrowed this link off another posting and only got 8 out of 15 right.
Now the interest rates are going up there will be some landlords wishing they had sold out.

Errrr - sorry harryhound, this post is about how tough it is to be a tenant :D

Next week is very busy folks, come back from secret break on Monday night, then full week with clients and somehow have to fit in time to do all the court response paperwork before Saturday 8th, to post Saturday morning, so it arrives with court and Defendant before 15th. Grr - it's crept up on me :o

Good luck EL - you can do it !!!! so, apart from the Statement of Truth which you originally prepared - what additional paperwork are you now having to do for the forthcoming appearance in court ?
