Floss - yes we will definately be having words. OH has already spoken to them about the Akro's - they are going to have a look for them  not spoken to them about the missing drill stuff yet - OH is at work and will call them later.
They are a local firm and we only live in a small village but I don't like people "forgetting" to put stuff back, will see what they say later but OH definately doesn't want them back for the rest of the work. The insurance company sent the money to us which I think is standard. The builder thought it would be sent to him! thankfully it wasn't.
PP - that is a disgusting amount of money for a school trip, especially in the current economic climate - are they in the real world?
Having quite a productive day, in middle of hated filing job and when that is finished will start on the ironing.x0 -
:rotfl:@ Bitsy! Not nosy at all! Not much to tell. I danced from when I was 6 to when I was 17 when i injured myself. (I did try to get back into it for 3 years later, but my knee was never strong enough no matter how much physio I had.) I went to a professional dance school when I left mainstream secondary school. I was the only 1st year to have ever been lucky enough to win couple of roles in the chorus of the local ballet which was a major accolade as to even audition was a priviledge reserved for 3rd years.
Then I busted my knee - combination of being too thin and not sleeping made my technique sloppy on a particular move - and the school sent me to physio and when it became clear that my recovery, if there was to be one, was going to take a long time, they put me out to pasture. All washed up at 17:rotfl:
What a shame you hurt your knee and being put out to pasture!
Floss - just checked rightmove and it's not listed on the Sold STC either.....:( Oh well probably not meant to be. Just because it looks lovely from the outside doesn't mean it wil necessarily be much bigger than what we're living in at the moment (new houses never seem to be as large these days).
Had fun at mindees house, lunch prepared for us and coffees made. I could get used to being waited on hand and foot
Going to put another load in WM and have a look at this shortbread recipe.
Edited to add:

Afternoon all.
Welcome Tia I think you'll like it here.:)Penny-Pincher!! wrote: »More for OH to keep busy. He has gone to Ikea whilst DD stays here with me as he got the wrong drawers,
Mr LW is wfh today, so he got nabbed at lunchtime to help with the Flylady list, as today's list included cleaning the tops of the kitchen cupboards, and he's much safer on a step-stool than I am.
Have also made Shepherd Spy, blackberry and apple pie and bread rolls, so a busy morning.
As I've been "Uncle !!!!!!" all weekend, I just want to lie down on the sofa and sleep now. Can't though; once Mr LW finishes for the day (at 15:30) we have to go into town for a few errands, and then on to Morries.
Sorry, I'm somewhat behind with events on the Daily, (yeah, I know, what else is new? LOL), so ((((HUGS)))) wherever they're needed today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Good afternoon chums, well Argoose delivered my stuff on two separate lorries just over an hour apart
?? but at least it's here. One of the boxes the work station was in was absolutely filthy, and I mean thick black grime on the box. Bearing in mind that I had been told that they were out of stock for three weeks God knows where its been stored. So I spent a jolly half hour cleaning the box up a bit, it was like soot it was so mucky.
DD, and three little boys came for a visit, as they were going to my local shops so it was chooky eggs and soldiers for the youngest two, and a corned beef sandwich with pickles for the rest of us for lunch.
Weather really chilly tonight and very overcast so a possibility of a sprinkle of the white stuff before the morning I think.
I had an email from my pal whom I knit for, and with the other five ladies scattered around North Kent, since 2005 we have knitted over several hundred blankets between us, quite a little cottage industry all made from recycled wool that we have scrounged from boot sales & unravelled jumpers ect.All have gone to underpriviliged children in all four corners of the world.:j
If the weather stays dodgy this week I will take the little ones to the cinema on Wednesday.DD has to work tomorrow and Wednesday but has Thursday and Friday off.
I must get my thinking cap on for my DGS birthday next week, he is 10 and a dear little chap. Even his own brothers call him Gentle Jack.
Well tonight I have the evening off from Uni as its half term so I can put my feet up and watch some mindless t.v. for a change instead of trekking out in the cold and dark.
Watched 'Rabbit-proof Fence' last night ,second time I've seen it, and its still gets me really angry that folk could be treated so badly
Well time to go and get dinner on the go I think I may have a corned beef salad with some charlotte potato's that must be used up and the last of my cheapie Onken Strawberry yoghurt.
have a good evening everyone

Good Afternoon Girlies (and n9eav and Halight, if you're reading)!
I've been lurking again, didn't really have anything I felt worthy of posting, to say. You all seem to have had a lovelye Valentine's Day, I never got anything either, despite telling my OH not to!!! Why can't men read minds?:p. We had a lovely family day out though, went to Nando's for the first time, which was OK (chicken eaters were happy, and the veggie choice is surprisingly good), and then went to see Percy Jackson at the cinema. I thoroughly recommend it for a half term visit. What a fantastic film. DS2 who is 7, is quite nervous, and the first perilous bit gave him a bit of a fright (and got me a lovely cuddle), but after that he was fine. I can't say enough good things about it, and am looking forward to reading the books with the boys, now.
I also saw The Hangover on Saturday night with OH. That is one of the funniest films I've ever seen. Highly reccommended.
Oops. This is meant to be OS. Blowing my money at the cinema doesn't count does it? Does that mean you'll chuck me out?:o
Dinner tonight will be Chinese M&S style, which I blew the last of my SKy vouchers on, as I CBA cooking. Will go hoover and clean the inside of the cars first though. OH's has to go in for some major surgery this week, so that's all that Overtime from January spent, then! The kids are off to gran's tomorrow then back to school Wednesday - only 2 day half term up here.
Good to see lowesy and Cranky are back at work, hugs to all the poorlies and worried, hopefully Spring will be here, soon and we can all get some sun and light back into our days! Welcome all the newbies too, and :hello: to Mooloo
Be back tomorrow!

Thanks for the welcome. I hope i can find the thread tomorrow. Had meatloaf, potatoes and sweetcorn for our tea. Meatloaf was made the other day, so it was easy to heat up, but I am afraid when i went to Mr T, i totally overspent. Probably double my budget, but had to get Nappies for DGD and new DGS. Had some money off vouchers which helped, but i really must try harder to stick to my list.
I hope that I will have enough nappies for a while now, as we are trying to potty train DGD and hope that will reduce them significantly!
Food wise i picked up two meat things, that were reduced. Problem is I would probably have not bought them if they werent reduced. So they are now in the freezer, along with a reduced loaf of bread. Handy for toast.
Twin2 wanted me to collect some sugar for them when iwas going over, and so I bought it in the Mr T behind them! £1.02 never again!
When I did my shopping in the bigger mr T a mile away, i noticed it was 98p

Evening everyone.
What a miserable day it has been here with all the rain. Roll on spring. Struggled to sleep last night, things whirring through my head re my wedding. Finally dropped off about 3am then ds2 woke me just after 6am:mad:. Does he not realise it is half term. Now fading fast and will be in bed as soon as he is.
My oh rang me last night to say that his sister and his dad & partner may not be able to go to the wedding as it has been booked for a school day and they both work at schools. I did book the date based on last years calender and my sons school broke up that week, but holidays appear to be a week later this year. He has asked me to make enqs about changing the date which is now only 6 months off, they were told about the wedding over 5 months ago. Will have to see what the venue says etc. Why couldn't they have let me know then.
This afternoon has been spent trying to sort out my mums phone package which has been messed up between BT and Orange. Her tel no which she has had for over 40 years, has been switched off for some reason on the changeover. on saturday I rang, spent nearly all afternoon sorting then and they assured us it would be sorted today. they have connected but with a different tel no.They are now saying she cannot have that original no. Rang Bt they said it can be done, so eventually been told they may be able to do it and it would be requested and possibly take till Thursday. My mum has got really agitated and stressed to the point she is so upset and was having a panic attack, thankfully she is okay now. I really hope they sort it thursday, anyway sent a complaint to the cheif executives office, as not very impressed to say the least.
Not much os today made tuna pasta bake for tea. My afternoon was meant to be soup making and decluttering, but alas family comes first.
Welcome to Billie, Mooloo and Tia, its lovely here.
Pennypincher - How much:eek: Thats a ridiculous amount, how on earth are kids meant to manage to go on these trips.
Hugs to anyone who needs/wants one. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Take Care

Evening all
Late post for me today. had to get DS1 to his new job for 8:30am and it went really well :j....then had to get DS2 to court...postponed again - it just feels like its getting silly today - had the barrister going on about getting witnesses but if no one seen anything what can you do? so we now have to wait another two weeks for the PPS to get forensics back (that don't exist) and it will be another day of work. I've lost £200 in wages this last month.
Anyway. Lunch today was HM coleslaw...which I ate using it as a dip with a packet of crisps to scoop it upThere was vegetables in it so I'm allowed
followed by a piece of the lovely cake DH made...scrumcious!
I have put DD to bed and SDD and SDS will go in a minute, DS1 and 2 are at a friends and DH is out at his martial arts class...I am currently working on my second glass of asti....because I'm worth it
Enjoy your evenings

jc2703 - glad ds1 1st day went well. I can understand your frustration with the court re DS2, a friend of my ds1 has had his case adjourned 3 times now, the last time he was informed the day before he was due to go to court that the police officer couldn't attend. This has been going on now for at least 4 months, this is a young lad like yours who has never been in trouble before.0
