Curly - I've cleaned by decking with lots of water and a stiff broom. Not sure how effective that will be on patio slabs. Be a lot of elbow grease but you might be able to make some headway and at least make it slightly less slippy. Pressure washers are fab (my dad has one) but on a water meter the potential cost does make me a bit
Pen-pin - How much :eek::eek: When I was a kid the most expensive school trip was skiing and that was a couple of hundred pounds.
lowesy - oooh ballet career.......tell me more <nosey icon> I did ballet from the age of 4-13 and I always wanted to be a ballerina but never had the <ahem> physique for it
taplady - good job my mum doesn't live at your house either. I think she'd be wanting to move too!
Molly - no advice I am afraid but hugs to you x
flutterby - have lovely time in Somerset. Hope the weather is kind for the wedding.
House I've been drooling over (that's vacant at the mo) is sold STCI still don't know the price though :rotfl: I shall just have to keep an eye on it in case the sale falls through. Mind you there are a million on things I'd need to do in order to buy that house so probably all just pipe dreams

Morning all! :hello:
Not managed to get on all weekend for one reason or another, the wedding was good on Friday but it just seems to have wiped me out for the rest of the weekend. Plus I've been out for my birthday lunch with the family yesterday which was very nice too
Anguk - great news that Martyn is home!
Redruby - Hope you don't miss DD too much - try and enjoy the peace and quietand a good idea about doing the fortnightly shop online, can't beleive I haven't thought of that before! I meal plan monthly so it would be so difficult for me to do, and I buy my fresh stuff weekly locally so wouldn't have to worry about anything going off. Thanks for the tip!
Sandy - fingers crossed all goes well with your arm (((hugs)))
DD is on half term this week, so OH and I have managed to get a few days off at the end of the week (:j:j:j:j) to look after her. I have to go down to London with work one day though, so I think we're going to make it into a day tripAm looking forward to a bit of a rest as well, and hopefully get quite alot done in terms of the house.
Lunch today is whatever ready meal I have in the freezer at work, that has been there for quite some time (not very organised this morning), and dinner tonight is tuna pasta bake of which I'll make enough to keep myself, OH and the kids fed for tonight and lunch tomorrow.
Have a great day everybody

Have you looked on Rightmove? There's a box you can tick to view sold STC properties....
Well, just to say that last night's supper was lovely - apart from the mulled wine jellies which as of 8am today STILL hadn't set ...so they will have to be reheated & have extra gelatine added. And DF is away until late Thursday night, so I may have to eat them all myselfOh well, can't let them go to waste

Hello, I have never been on these threads before, but met Molly41 last week, and so thought I would pop over and have a read.
Molly41, as my son has just left home, aged 17 and gone to live with mates family, he has just found out that he cannot get any money as he has a roof over his head! So i am wondering how long it will be before he actually finds work, or the other family get fed up of him free loading off of them!.
I was advised to let him try it out. He will come home when he realises that he had it good at home! But I am not sure if thats good or bad advise. But it has stopped me from panicing so much!
Today I have been on a bit of a go slow. Every muscle seems to be aching even more then usual today.
I am looking after my granddaughter at the moment, and we are trying to potty train. Had a couple of successes this morning, and one accident! I had forgotten how hit and miss it can be!!
This afternoon I am going to visit one of my twins, who has two boys, the youngest is just about a month old, (17th Jan). So still at that adorable sleepy stage. His brother is also in the terrible two stages! Not much fun for Mum as they are currently living in one room. Very cramped.!
I have put the washing machine on, and moved the drying out of the utility room.
I have taken to hanging things up in the area between the bathroom and kitchen. We have a storage heater there, and so have put a pole up above a cupboard and the freezer, (old shower rail), and just hang as much on hangers as I can, and let them dry in the air. then naughtily I just hang back in the wardrobes. If we need to iron, I am afraid I only do it if i have to. I have trouble with my left arm, so I avoid ironing like the plague. (Originally I was left handed, but learning to be more righthanded now!)
Hope you dont mind me posting on here.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all.
Still got the weird pain in my side (no rash to whoever asked that yesterday). Tried to get a doctors appointment today but they were all gone. Will maybe try again tomorrow.
JackieO - can't believe argos are making 2 separate deliveries, that seems a bit pointless! Your words yesterday were lovely.
Molly - no advice on DS, just hugs to you and hope you can get some advice and get things sorted out.
Taplady -. I seem to remember you've mentioned snakes before where you live, no way on this planet you'd catch me living there, I'm petrified!
Hugs to anyone else that needs them.
Sounds like there has been some lovely cooking/baking going on for valentines, its been making me drool.
Having a lazy day today. DS is still in his pyjamas playing with his lego (he is 12 and still obsessed with it!) DD has gone off to play round at a friends house.
Thinking of toby carvery for tea, like to try and do something a bit different each day on school holidays. Planning alton towers and london trips by Thursday (merlin passes run out that day!), just got to keep fingers crossed for weather and that also my side doesn't get any worse.0 -

:rotfl:@ Bitsy! Not nosy at all! Not much to tell. I danced from when I was 6 to when I was 17 when i injured myself. (I did try to get back into it for 3 years later, but my knee was never strong enough no matter how much physio I had.) I went to a professional dance school when I left mainstream secondary school. I was the only 1st year to have ever been lucky enough to win couple of roles in the chorus of the local ballet which was a major accolade as to even audition was a priviledge reserved for 3rd years.
Then I busted my knee - combination of being too thin and not sleeping made my technique sloppy on a particular move - and the school sent me to physio and when it became clear that my recovery, if there was to be one, was going to take a long time, they put me out to pasture. All washed up at 17:rotfl:

Gather you have been over on my thread then!
I could "waste" my day on here, well I often do,
Just got some PM's with links to some freebie nappies!. So duly signed up for them. Will no doubt be bombarded with junk too, but I shall just have to put up with that, if I am going to get the odd freebie or coupon etc etc. Talking of coupons, Ihave some lurking around. Must check that they are still in date, and use them (if I need the things) this afternoon when we go to Mr T.
I have shopping lately, I just seem to spend a fortune on not a lot!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo,
Lovely to see you posting here. Have just caught up with you - glad you had a nice weekend. Keeping fingers crossed for you and yours. Hugs xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Weekend was not all bad for a change.!
I made BF's card, by sewing the words I love you, over and over again in red. Taken from an idea in my sewing magazine. then did some added sticky bits. He was fine with it. I had also given him some heart shaped choc's I had made, and he was impressed with them too. This has spurred me on to try other cards.
We had a meal I made on Saturday, as he couldnt stay all day on Valentine's Day.
I did Lamb shanks, with some roasted veg, then in stock, and with a mint and cranberry jelly Jus, got idea off of the internet. Had the lamb shanks in the freezer as they were on reduced to half Price.. Everything else was in the storecupboards. Did a banana split for afters. Went down very well.!
Had also made a jelly in a heart shaped mould I bought in the Charity Shop on Friday afternoon. But its still there. DGD and I can have it tonight.
I had the lovely red roses, and a heart shaped cushion, choccys, and a lottery ticket. (but alas it was not a winner). Oh and a tin of Mr T value Curry Sauce wrapped up!!!
I had asked him to get me some if there was any in his tesco as our tesco dont have it!! it was all wrapped up beautifully too!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
