    Morning All,

Not posted for a couple of days as been in bed with a tummy bug, yuck but feel better today and managed a toast this morning.:)

Just waiting for apointments for my hospital tests at the moment.. \bit anxious about the MRI Scan but DH assures me I will be fine.

Well enough of illness! Busy weekend with the family. DD and partner and DGS called for a visit yesterday and will probably call around tea time tonight if I am making anything that will stretch LOL

Going to do some baking today as I have a bag of Bramleys that need to be used. DS2 has started a new job today so will be anxious until he returns home and says it was ok (21 but still my baby!) and DS3 wants to go into town shopping with his friends, don't really like the idea but he is almost 14. I know I'm a softy!

Well had a break through with the crochet last night. Folllowed a pattern for a ripple blanket that you crochet in circles. Have managed to repeat the pattern twice and it looks good yeh:A

Have a good day everyone. x

    morning!

    day off today!

am going to do some spring cleaning for the lady whose house I look after while she is in the USA - so not strictly a day off but the cash is very handy at the moment.
Have got the BM and WM working. house is tidy and clean - I'm going to do the upstairs windows later - just the insides as cant reach the outsides but these were done a while ago when we had the cavity wall insulation done.
Lunch will probably be a jacket spud. Tea is stir fry chicken for DH and DS using up a some mushrooms and peppers, I'm making a batch of quorn sweet and sour for myself and we'll all have noodles. There's cake or yoghurt for pud.

Redruby - Friday will soon come! x

Bitsy - hope you get a rest later x

JackieO - I'm getting great pleasure from watching the birds ourside my window. Its very busy there since DH put his christmas present of a bird feeding station up. Its near the hedge so the birds go back and forth between the 2.

Had a bit of a fright yesterday as DH was telling our neighbour that when the scrap man came to take some old stuff and tin sheeting from the top of the garden that there was a lot of snakes underneath it:eek:_pale_omg.gif they've all disappeared in the garden somewhere! there's no way I'm venturing up there again - ever! DH never told me as he knows I'm petrified.

anyway I hope you all have a great day (((hugs))) to those feeling poorly or low x

    Morning All :hello:,

    Hope everyone is ok.

JackieO - love the post about the blackbird! You're very descriptive have you ever thought of writting stories at all? I think I've said this before but I'd love to read your autobiography!
Molly - your poor DS. That was one of the many things I did to my knee which ended my ballet career. Try not to be too upset with him - he's being a boy (I would suspect a bit of a "Kevin & Perry"....? :D) and I think by nature at 19 you're a bit selfish. He loves you you're his Mummy, but you're not as cool as his mates!
Taplady - Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhh snakes!!!!!! I'm terrified of them too!!!!

Had quite a sedate weekend (needed after the drama of Friday!) so didn't get around to any baking on Saturday. Will admit to being curled up watching the rugby though :o not sure how I can make that an important part of OSing but I'm working on it!

Have got to go to the library today to get some reading material for our holiday on Thurs as it looks like we're in for a week of rain! It would rain though - I'm going to be there it's the law!

OS wise, think we're going to have Bubble and Squeak for tea tonight (it is Monday after all) and probably some of the delicious pavlova that my Mum made yesterday for afters.

Have a lovely day, hugs to all xx

  • Morning Guys!

Nurse has been and gone. Ive been told to rest and take it easy for next few days.

WM is on, TD is done and clothes need folding. Hoping that the weather will be kinder soon, so they can be hung outside to dry. DW has been on and emptied. Have a bag of ironing that needs doing, so will see if my lady help can do it for me.

Bacon sarnies for breakfast with HP. Dinner later will be cold Gammon, Mash, Cabbage and pickles. Might get DD to help me do a cake later as I need to put on some weight.

Waiting to see if the carpet fitters are coming today, then OH can start with the wardrobes. DD has started sorting her clothes, old undies etc and need to buy her new ones.

Give you a laugh, DD came home with a letter for a school trip next year to Africa for 28 days. The cost......£3850:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:....it's such a shame as DD wanted to go on this from when she started but the cost is too high. It includes a safari too. They are hoping to get students spnsored, so it may be up to 50%+ off, but its still a lot of money.

    Anyway, am off to rest.

    Hugs to all.

    Morning all
cold and dry here so hope it stays that way, (dry I mean)

We are off shopping in a bit. must remember my list today I usually get to the supermarket and I have Mums list,MIL's list and forget mine :o That's about right for me lately.

Had a big bake up yesterday PM to fill up the freezer, pasta bakes, shepherds pies, we seem to run out so quickly, I did an apple crumble with a couple of eating apples that had gone a bit crinkled, they tend to be a bit sweet, but I did'nt want to bin them.

Got loads of sewing to do before we go away next week, mainly trousers to be turned up I hate doing them but its £7 to have them done at the dry cleaners, so I reckon OH owes me a fortune over the years ;)

better get a move on hope you are all ok and keeping warm in this blinkin cold weather.

  • Morning!
Its very damp out here this morning, but it smells of lovely moist soil (think I'm getting springy).
Plan for today is washing darks, tidying the kitchen and shopping. We are having friends for tea(and play) so I'm going to do HM meatballs in tomato sauce with spaghetti and garlic bread which is one of dd's favourites, she doesn't know it contains lots of disguised vegetables!!
Can't believe that all last week I've been having to wake dd at 7.30 for school and this morning, after three late nights, she was up at 6.40!!!! I wouldn't mind but I'm now tired and I have a hospital appointment tomorrow that I'm worried about so I don't expect to sleep well tonight.
Does anyone know whats a good thing to clean patio flags with, other than a pressure washer which I don't have?. I've started trying to clear up the mess that my garden is in (totally self inflicted!!) and the flags are covered in slippy algae and ground in dirt. I still need to clear the leaves and rubbish from between the pots before I can tackle it but now I've started I want to get it done before I lose interest.
I hope everyone has a good day.

    Morning all.

I've only been up for about an hour and a half but I feel like I've done a full day already! OH has gone to a different hospital for his dialysis instead of his usual centre because they want to keep an eye on him for the next few weeks, his usual dialysis centre is nearer but it's only a small unit and they want him at the main renal unit. Not a problem, they told him this on Saturday but they didn't say what time. We rang them at 8am only to be told he was late because he'd been booked in the 7am slot and they hadn't realised he'd need transport, so we had about 30 minutes to get him ready before the ambulance turned up!

I've had to get him up, give him a quick breakfast & medication, change the dressing on his stomach, help him get ready and also give him a shave, he hadn't had one for 3 weeks so was looking a bit Brian Blessed! :D

He won't be back until mid afternoon so I'll do some washing & tidying round while he's away. I think I'll also make some pea & ham soup, we had gammon yesterday so I've got some leftovers and some nice stock.

Quick question, the gammon was cooked yesterday, it'll get cooked again today when I make the soup, I was going to portion the soup up but will it be okay to reheat again? It'll mean the gammon will have been cooked once and reheated twice, would it be best to just make the soup with the peas & stock and then just add the gammon/ham when I reheat it? I don't really want to take any chances with Martyn's health.

Off to make DD some boiled eggs, she's just got up.

Have a good day and hugs to all that need them. x

Had a c**p nights sleep:o Kept waking up. Still, sun is shining here in Hastings, so maybe the day will be better.
Blood test this morning, then taking DD in to hand a cert to the hospital. She finishes work on March 15th. Baby fine very active.:T
Got to call in the garage about my car. Someone knocked the door mirror out, and they put it back in when it went in for service, but it's still not right, it won't go in far enough, and I can't see down the side of car:eek: Very frustrating!

Seeing my MS lady this afternoon. Have my ESA Tribunal on Weds, so we are going to discuss tactics, and what I need to say. Hope I win, the distress is causing me such problems.:o

Porridge and a croissant for breakfast. Leftover beef and chips tonight=, if the cat lets me have any!:rotfl:

Put some of my clothes on ebay last night, sold one already!
    Have a good day!

    PenPin :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: I'm in shock!

    Taplady  Snakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anguk I put the gammon in soups at the end as you're thinking of. Better to be safe with Martyn just coming out of hospital :)

Julie67 Glad you're feeling better today & way to go with the crochet :T I've been teaching myself since just after Christmas and am crocheting Granny Squares at a rate of knots now - it's brilliant when it just clicks isn't it :D

Nearly finished the cleaning now - just the living room to do and DH is hoovering for me. Still need to get a batch of Twinks done and the bolognaise/chilli sauce bases in the slow cooker.

I have read all your post but I don't have word on this machine to do what was suggested but will get it so I can do individual messages. For now hello all hope you are all well.

Off to the hospital soon to check my arm, hoping they don't keep me in:(
Not had a great weekend so that would be the final straw.

Have a good day everyone x
