Taplady -. I seem to remember you've mentioned snakes before where you live, no way on this planet you'd catch me living there, I'm petrified!

    .
yes I have - its a problem that crops up every year along with the frogs although they do seem to have dwindled a bit. Our garden is huge and was once part of an orchard so the wildlife love it especially the overgrown bit at the back. I think we will eventually have to move as its getting too much for us - its all bordered by huge hedges so lots of birds too. It was last summer that DH spotted a snake in the hedge near our back window:eek: I get very nervous out there in the better weather!:D

Morning all......Just!!! ((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) if you need one.

Thank you to all those of you who mentioned my friend yesterday. P had an operation for bowel cancer almost 2 years ago, it was a seocndary, the primary was in his liver. They decided to go down the chemo route, he had 3 lots, none of which worked, just made him very ill. They were married in May and he was told in July that there was nothing else they could do and said 2 - 3 years, but it just galloped......ending yesterday in the early hours. He wanted to be nursed at home and A made sure his wish was kept, she has been brilliant, but I feel so sad for her.......they had been together for about 6 years, its no time at all and now she is a widow with a young son to cope with. Had we still been down south we would have travelled for his funeral, but there is no way, so I am arranging for flowers to be sent to A the day after the funeral.

Been busy this am, Lentil soup made for lunch, OH is going down to the bowls club after lunch. Bed changed and sheets washed, drying inside, no rain forwcast but its looking very black. Cleaned the bedroom and pushed the hoover over the rest of the floors. The fire went out last night so I have had a chance to clean it out.....burning brightly again now.

Just deciding where the last few things are going, I have 3 painted china plates that need a home, also decide what to put at the bathroom window, think its going to be another blind, and maybe a muslin curtain on the glass panel in the door.

Chicken salad for supper tonight with more of the oranges in jelly.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Snakes and frogs, my 2 phobias!! Don't think I could ever go out in your garden for fear of seeing either.

Redruby, glad you have heard from DD, bet she'll have a great time in Spain.

...DS is still in his pyjamas playing with his lego (he is 12 and still obsessed with it!)....

DS1 is still obsessed - at nearly 24! He has the Technic space shuttle & still insists on dismantling it at least once a year, just so he can build it all over again!!

Suppose i better make him a curry next time he comes over then!
meanwhile its my turn to go and see him next weekend, so he can cook!. he he
Actually I dont mind cooking when I go over there, if he has anything in the cupboards.
we cleared out his cupboards a few weeks ago. there was things in there that were there when I was staying, in 2006!!!! eek.
Anyway he has clean and organised cupboards now. So its easier to see what there is. Reminds me, I need to rethink my cupboards as the damp in there has made the salt cardboard tube soaking wet! So think all my flour etc may be a bit damp too. Cant do it today as my arm wont reach that high, but maybe tomorrow?
lets see if the doctor can work some miracles and get me some physio again.

  • Hi Again!

Carpet fitter not coming till tomorrow afternoon which is a nuisance as we wanted to get the room done ASAP. More for OH to keep busy. He has gone to Ikea whilst DD stays here with me as he got the wrong drawers, but hopefully they will have the correct ones and get started on them later.

R.E.School trip. I think it's a disgusting price! There was a meeting at the school about it last week but we missed it and DD didnt give us the letter till the end of the week anyway. They are hoping to get a majority of it sponsored, but they can't guarantee this. DD thinks that this didnt include the flights either, but that would be ridiculous!

DD and I are watching Wild At Heart atm.

    Hugs to all.

    Afternoon everyone :D.

Well my no more work at wkends started all wrong so Im hopeing the week is going to be better :(.

My DS2 took his younger bro & sis to his for the wkend, I ended up in bed with a migraine then yesterday when he was going to bring the 2 littles home he had a call from his ex saying my DGD (4) had to be taken to hospital, she had poked a bead up her nose and the doc couldnt get it out. Only prob is he lives in Northants, his ex is in North Norfolk and the hospital they had to take her was Norwich to put her out to get at it :(. The only thing he could do was drop bro & sis off at my mums (Downham Market) for the night, he's now bringing them back after dropping DGD and his ex back home so poor DS2 is running aroung like a headless chicken :(.

DGD is lot better now phew :). Perhaps her mother will not sit up all night and then expect DGD to sort herself in the morning while she stays in bed

I have managed to make an apple crumble and a chicken casserole for tea.
Also 3 beds stripped and remade (I needed something to take my mind off things lol).

I hope everyone is having a good day and kind wishes & hugs to all :D
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

    Hello everyone

This is my first post on this board, it's lovely to read about everyones plans for the day.

This evening my OH and I will be decorating our dining room having spent most of Saturday and most of Sunday stripping the wallpaper from it. Dinner will almost certainly be something left over or very quick to make as we'll probably be shattered from all the painting.
