How would you like it if I took to riding round your garden? Also how do people expect farmers to get their tractors around to do field work -fly?
Wow, for an opening post that is a corker.
But for what its worth we have been saying 'Bridleways' not fields. The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -
Dangerous driving is a matter of law, not the Highway Code.:rotfl:
But as you purport to be a lawyer, you should know that. [FONT="]

Oh dear, go back and read my post on the highway code -
Actually no don't, to make it easy(er) for you ill repost the important bits...
Surely a lawyer would know that the highway code is not law? I admit, it contains points of law, but it isn't law. All parts that are law are written in bold.
Have a look -
Laws HA 1835 sect 72, R(S)A 1984, sect 129(5) - Horses must not ride on pavements or paths.
S.214 Highway code - Says drivers should pass slow and wide, as you will see this is not law.
S.52 Highway code - Says all riders should be able to control their horse. The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -
More insults.
Come at me with a reasoned and educated argument to illustrate your side of the argument - Oh, you cant
I'm not sure I really need illustrate any more than what I've just said
You recently got nicked for driving an unroadworthy vehicle and following this were loudly resentful that a) you'd been pulled in the first place and b) that the copper should have the temerity to insist you got your illegal tyre replaced immediately instead of letting you drive around until you saw fit to replace it.
You then discussed at length on this very thread how you're prepared to drive like a knob around horses because, well, they get on your nerves down country lanes and that, and you've got a big car and reckon you're the top boy or whatever.
Idiot driving in an unroadworthy vehicle = d*ckhead.

You don't have to justify anything to anyone Katie.
But when you throw your profession into the ring it is fair game. I know very little about tort or indeed criminal law, only really the principles behind them. And i don't really have the time to keep pulling up statutes.
I'm not convinced it would be dangerous driving but ill take your word since you claim to be familiar with the Highways Code.
You should stop taking things so literal.
I have to wonder though, are you the 2 fingered type or the 4
Well as you say you know very little about tort, take it from someone who does know about it that your claims of "I'll sue you" are both ill founded and childish.0 -

Look, i know that everyone reading this - except for our dear friend vor - will see that you are confused in what you post and the order which you are posting/accusing.
I really don't have the time to educate you.

I think those of you that find horseriders annoying need to realise a few things....
Most of us are not Toff's....thats just a steroetype...most of us don't guffaw, walk about with our noses in the air nor talk with a plum in our mouth's. Most of us are just just bog standard Joe Bloggs types and horses are a hobby.
I realise you think we look down our noses at you but we ARE sat on a horse so it is very difficult not to if we want to signal or thank you. We are not doing it to annoy you.
When we use hand signal's we are trying to help the situation either for ourselves or for you. We are controlling a live animal and sometimes we are trying to concentrate on where are animals are going rather than smiling. That doesn't mean we are being snooty it just means we are concenrating.
Unfortunately in every group you will get those that do not follow the rules but please don't tar us all with the same brush. Most horse riders are curtious just as most drivers are.
I'm afraid most riders will have had a scary moment on the roads and to read such nastiness towards riders is just horrible and the reason I don't let my 14yr old daughter out and about on her own.
I live in the Devon countyside. In my village we have only 2 bridleways left. NONE are anywhere near most of the yards. Most farmers don't want you riding in their fields as they are all in use. We HAVE to ride on the roads which are all winding country lanes. We have to share these roads with tourists that can't seem to drive unless the roads are straight but still get annoyed with us for being in their way after they've almost rammed us.0
