oh i forgot about free listing day! only added a few bits last night!0

I'm going to plonk my old engagment ring on eBay but whats the best way to send it? Courier? Don't want anyone buying it and saying it didn't arrive, plus its classed as a high value item I think. Any ideas?
Nikki - think carefully before you do that - can you get a rough valuation from a local jeweller? You will need to know this even if you do go ahead with ebay (for postal insurance etc.)

Thanks Shell - I don't understand why it costs either. I was told by the hospital he was moving the day before he did and I asked if I needed to sort anything and was told 'no' and then had a phone call on the day at 10.30am the rehab centre saying 'hi, your dad is coming to us after lunch we need you to do shopping for him, pay us for meals and bring us clothes for him.' so shouldn't be surprised with this latest fiasco. Never had much luck with CAB, but will do some research. xx
Mummy - thank you, much better to know now!!! Am thinking best to sort this ourselves if we can..... how I don't know - something else to think about. Maybe I need to find some very stinky shoes and put them on a short listing lol! Thank you for the info on payday loans, not sure right for now but worth knowing about xx
Feeling less stressed about it now - thank you guys!
hh - thats what this thread is for - not sure about other threads/boards though!

the_cat,
thanks very much for the feedback Thats something i completely didnt even think of. So will be amending all those shortly. Other than that is there anything else as a potential buyer you would like to see? I'm thinking of taking Generic Photos of some of the items I have to be put into those clothing boxes? Would that be a good idea and to clearly state that photo is Generic and a cross selection of items that maybe included in the box?:j:jDribbling my way to financial success:j:j

hey to everyone again. shell06 good spot thats the company i used to buy my supplies from when i was selling single items. I was thinking of running an offer on my webshop for people buying items where i will supply free of charge with any order mailing bags suitable for the items they have purchased?
the_cat i think i have now sorted the descriptions out on my site i dont know wether you would mind having a look and seeing what you think?
the criticism is good. I never had such good criticism and positive remarks off of people. All welcomed to help improve my webshop and giving the customer a better experience.:j:jDribbling my way to financial success:j:j

hhhonlyfan wrote: »hi wayne thanks for the post regarding my site. Indeed free postage has been worked into my price. However what i have done for now is to try and market my products at low prices taking a slight knock onto my profit margins but to try and drive sales. My dad who runs a retail shop suggested this as this is what he did until customers were coming in repeated to buy then to slowly increase the prices. I thought the offer of free postage would work well to drive in the people into my shop at least. As for the kinks i think im slowly getting there. More and more people who comment the better in my eyes so i can perfect the site to the best of my ability and as dillidalli suggested moving onto a paid package.
Thanks, i did wonder if thats what you did. I would do that as it looks better imo, however how do you go about when you sell abroad as it will cost more for postage abroad?. :beer:2016 Money challenge - £2900 -
