  • Morning all..... I am selling a caravan awning on ebay and have just got it on collection only. People keep asking if they arrange a courier will I send it by courier, the only problem is I dont know how to package it ready for the courier.
It is extremely heavy and is in 3 large canvas bags. I thought Id just wrap it in black bags and then tape it altogether, but im worried due to the weight it would all just fall apart and some bits would get lost.
Has anyone any ideas, or should I just stick to collection only?
    Thanks

If it is really big, (don't know your definition of large), try calling your local pallet delivery people, they usually quote £35+VAT for a 3 day service, don't need to worry about packing then, just drop it on the pallet they come round with.

Edited to add: When they get back to the depot they put clingfilmy stuff round it so it doesn't fall apart

Mabel - curiousity got the better of me! what can I say, I am a nosey parker!
found the item and had a little nosey at singles and pairs and looks like a good investment to me, will say this tho, they seems tho be a lot of competition for the lot, judging by the questions at the bottom, might mean there are quite a few waiting for last minute, would def work out a max price and stick to it.

Don't worry tho, lips are sealed and not something I would buy, but if he knows his stuff, go for it, just be carefull he doesn't pilfer all the good ones!

Test the water with the reserve, put a small increase on the bid, reserves are usually in £25 increments, price shouldn't jump up unless you hit the reserve or someone elses high bid.

Lol-how did you find that??!!! Now I'm curious!!

I wanted a Blue originally but then this one came up in a garage only 30 miles from me so it was fate lol
I like Flossy-I know someone with a mini called flo :-) Caz on the site has a lilac Fig which is a lovely colour but I prefer them to be kept original (just my opinion) There were only 20,000 of them made 6,000 each of Lapis Grey,Emerald Green, and the blue and 2,000 of the beige topaz mist colour. When you take off all the ones that have been scrapped/written off in the 19 years since they were made there cant be that many left!!

Thanks. The buyer was going to arrange the courier, so I think it would need some sort of packaging. They are around 5ft long but are only 2ft ish round, but very heavy (probably 50kg) in total.
Maybe I might be best to stick to collection only, its just frystrating when I keep being asked and have to say no lol!!
    Thanks

Could you wrap some cardboard round the lot and then cover with heavy duty bin bags/rubble bags?

i prefer to the originals to be honest
the beige is my least fav, although its the rarest of the originals, and there is one not too far from me going for a steal!
the outside is immaculate but the inside needs TLC, recover seats ect. although i would prob do that anyway (im a bit of a perfectionist! teehee!)
and it could be an investment as it has quite low miles, rarest of the origional colours and needs work.....

but do i want a beige car?????? hmmmmm....
