  • hi sillyspender. welcome to the forum. a few bits of advice from someone who has sold tickets before via ebay. if they are now sold out i would advise to put on now and make sure to inform buyer is kept upto date with tickets etc. I used to provide a copy of my pruchased email along with my contact details so buyer could always stay upto date. Amazon i would say is right for the books but beware that amazon has fixed prices for postage and packaging so make you can send for within your limits (you dont want to be losing money). Selling on ebay can be difficult but depends on what your looking at buying to list. I have been selling on ebay for 10 years on and off and i found a number of items that makes good money on there (please pm me for more details). I have a webshop link in my profile as well if your interested at taking a look at items i may have that would be suitable for reselling on ebay. Can also give you some pointers and offer a discount code to be used aswell.

I dont know why they have changed it from £20 to £50
maybe they realise they are loosing too much money with everyone taking up this offer. Last night I won £50 , I withdrew it and then they banned me from the site with no idea why. when I read the site it says they can do this if they feel you are abusing the site. Basically if you never deposit and always take. But they are the ones who gave us the offer of £5 a day to play with :(.
    Kindness costs nothing :)
  • but surley if you win £10,£5 etc.. and obv cant withdraw it you spent it again (technically your own money) surely thats like a deposite i know i have dont this a few times

Trying to decide whether to bid on an Ebay item- it's sorta a job lot, 76 items and I know I can get at a bare minimum £10 per item and probably double that for some of them. It's on £350 with 5 days to go and hasn't met reserve yet. Am seriously considering it as it's a dead cert ( as much as anything is) me and OH would go halves but not sure how much my maximum bid should be :-/

anyone have any thoughts on this :-/ some of the items are worth at least £20. am having a bit of a dilemma trying to work out what my maximum bid should be. Need to decide before it ends as I get a bit auction crazy!!
  • Morning all!

BB - after reading the probs everyone was havig with BB, I decided that as I had had £30 out of them and I was only 7 days into the freebies, I would deposit another £10 and hope, sice then, I have had a further £50 out of them, and nothing has flagged, alternative is, if you win more than £20, don't withdraw it all. My theory is that it is better have a little than to gamble and risk having nothing.

HHH - once you have got your website sorted, would maybe be worth seeing about a small ad in The Trader? Don't know about costs, but that seems to be the place that people go if they want small amounts of stock to essentially dabble with. This may be a good way to get traffic and sales. Also SEO, don't anything myself, but intend to teach myself curtesy of a link posted by someone on here, really sorry, don't remember who but thanks, http://www.seoinpractice.com/first-practical-seo-guide.html

This post is going to turn into an essay! Next, bank accounts, opened a business account with barclays yesterday, apparently same rules apply to banks as to EBay, breach of policy to run business through current. Anyway, the offer I was given was 18 months free banking a bucket load of free software including Quickbook pro for accounts, marketing stuff and can't remember the rest, but if you are going to use it might be worth it as software total is something like £2500. You get it all for £15 a month and every year you automatically get the updates without paying. Charges are going to sting a bit after the first 18 months, but can transfer to another bank and use their free banking offer then!

Off to decide how to entertain my children for the day!! Thinking about getting them to make some jewelry....inspired by all you lot lol....but only threading beads on to thread lol! Depends if I can be bothered to go and buy some beads at our local craft/art shop!
Life is a work in progress
  • mabel - are the items for sale separately on EBay? Its not what they are worth, its what you can get for them! If you can find them separately, work out rough price they go for and see, you would prob need a min of at least 50% mark up to cover things like fees and to make it worth you while. Thats how I would work my max bid, good luck.

ps curious now! if I have confused you, PM me, have made a template for roughly working these out, been trying to find something similar myself x
