  • Morning all, you put me to shame with your buzz of activity this early in the day!

Jo, have you looked into using a courier instead of the Royal Mail service? Might turn out cheaper and probably just as good a service. I was asking about sending a box of stuff before on the thread and someone kindly posted links to different couriers, who will collect from you too, so you don't even have to walk out the door! Shouldn't matter too much to the buyer as long as they get their goodies in the same space of time.

It's flipping freezing here today, I'm off to stand in front of the fire for 5 minutes before doing something productive!

  • jo - it was parcels2go or parcelmonkey, forgort when I posted it before, you can get cashback on them too, making it even better for you! There is also Parcelforce and DHL on the cshbakcside of things, all of the above collect from you, really good if you don't drive and the box is big!

Mummy you just reminded me I haven't checked freegle for a while, just gone in and found an email from my local freegle group. Apparently they're having a free market in the hall above the Forest Cafe, 3 Bristo Place, Edinburgh on Sunday 7th March 2pm-5pm. For anyone not too far from Edinburgh, it might be worth a look if there's something in particular you're looking for. The email goes on to say that the Forest Cafe do small regular free markets anyway, which I wasn't aware of, so worth bearing in mind.

Nikki - glad you got work sorted, if you need to get stuff sorted at home, it is probably a good thing OH took the car! Can you not walk/bus it anywhere? Speaking as a non-driver, I manage to get around, and with a double buggy, no less, mind you, you should see me trying to get on bus!

TBH I don't really need to go anywhere, its just because I 'can't' that I want too.

The bus service around here is abismal. Very over priced aswell. I could walk (and I should because I'm becoming too damn lazy) but some of the locals are a little intimidating to say the least. And its so very cold, and its only so I can pick up the OH's parcel, hmmm warm house and cuddles from the baby? Or long walk in the cold :rotfl:Me thinks i'll stay indoors and tidy up and huggle the baby.

only thing is they finish friday night so we can take to post office on sat morning. Am I right in thinking couriers wouldn't collect til monday?
Sorry for being so dense about such a simple thing.

  • Lol Mummy, don't know if this is a new thing since the group left Freecycle and went to Freegle, but I like the idea. Think I'll go get my diary now, before I forget when it's on!! Could well be a lot of elbowing and shoving methinks!

  • Unless you have an account with them, they won't collet til monday, they do deliver on sat though, but then do people really expect you to post on a sat? Used to live in a village as PO was closed on Sat, I thought general consensus was posting was Mon-Fri job!

lol Toots, can't say it would be my idea of fun, but heyho, get what you can if its free! x
