    Better than BT you think?

Are you serious? How can it not be? And much cheaper.

They're not offering installation or reconnection. Line rental and calls only.

So we still have to pay BT a lot of money for a landline? IR the Post office?

You could try the Post Office if you don't want the 12m contract required by BT.

It's not much cheaper - it depends on the services you actually want/use.

Caller ID is extra, 1571 is extra. If you don't want/use these services then yes it's cheaper.

Yes, I was referring to the basic line rental and either the e&w or anytime call packages. Line rental alone is £2.04 pm less.

I would not want to do without Caller ID so that would cost me £9.50 plus £1.75 making it £11.25. I already have free E&W calls with primus Saver at no cost so don't feel it's worth changing for 39p difference, especially as it guarantees that I can use all the low cost override numbers and still gives me a choice of BB suppliers.

Isn't caller id a bit crap anyway? Or do they save a series of numbers these days rather than just the last one to call?

Caller ID shows who is phoning and gives their phone number or name if it's in phone's memory.

My phone lists the last 100 callers at least.

If I wanted to know the last one to call I'd simply use 1471.
