O2 2mths free PLUS £70 cashback

After checking, the O2 b/band seems best for me. Am currently paying 25 a month with BT. My son does loads of streaming and downloads so I need unlimited.
My problem is I'm tied to contract with BT till mid May. If I left early would I have to pay exit fees and pay for the router ( which I never used as I have a netgear one already set up)?
I'm wondering if I could get a good cashback deal it might be worth changing now but no idea how much BT would charge. Whereas if I hang on till mid May I am paying twice as much to Bt for my broadband and the O2 deals may not still be around by then.
Any suggestions?0 -
Difficult to say.
The O2 deals have been going up and down since I first started looking at them back in October. Sometimes they have offered 3 months free, sometimes 2 months , sometimes zero. Cashback has varied too.
You would need to find out the early exit charges and see whether it's all worth moving early or not.0 -
I've moved some posts into a new thread as this is the current best offer from o2 available until 16/2. Please use the MSE links to Simplify Digital for o2 as these links give a small amount of money to MSE which enables Martin to provide the website free for your use.

earthlover o2 usually always have a fairly decent offer via the cashback websites so I would be inclined to wait and see rather than pay double until May. Also o2 are bringing out a package in March which will include line rental as well so it could be they will have new offers then to persuade users to move.

Jem 16 and Edinburghlass, thanks both of you for your reply.
I think it is better to wait and see what is available from O2 in May. I was going to change my pay as you go to O2 to qualify for the cheaper b/band but if they are thinking of offering landline from March I may not need to do that after all.
Thanks again!0 -

The same mobile discount will apply to the rental/calls/broadband bundle as applies to broadband only, i.e £5pm off the Standard tariff. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

O2 is giving two months free on its fast unlimited download Premium home broadband package. Plus get it via comparison site SimplifyDigital* before next Tue 16 Feb and you get £70 cashback.
I signed up for this O2 deal today - with the cashback and 2 free months it works out at £2.50/mth. I can expect around 4GB download speed.
Compared to my old BT account where I paid £25/mth for 1.5 to 2GB download I am expecting to a very happy user for 12 months. Even beats my current provider BE by £5/mth.
I hope Martin had got it right. Almost too good to be true!!
I've just signed up. Been with Orange for years but totally fed up now with being continually disconnected. My Quidco has tracked £125 within minutes even though it said £100 for the Pro package0 -
I don't see how it works out as £2.50 a month0
-
£10pm for O2 mobile customers with first two months free = £100. £70 cashback brings it down to £30 over 12 months which is equivalent to £2.50pm.
Oh I see maths was never my strong point. How about the quidco thing???
You get £125 for the Pro. How much does that work out monthly, if you are a o2 mobile customer?
EDIT: Hang on, dont you get two months free anywa? So it would be £3 a month? Or am I going mad?
quidco says
Pro Home Broadband
£2.08 effective cost per month
I get 6.250 -

Pro is £17.50 for O2 customers and free for 2 months so that's £175. Cashback from Quidco is £100 so that brings it down to £75.
£75 divided by 12 = £6.25 as you say. God knows what Quidco are using as calculators!0
